  • My son and I did a road trip from Brisbane to Tasmania, February 2024 to hike Frenchmans Cap in the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park. This was an adventure one year in the making and it didn't disappoint. What an amazing hike. Spectacular scenery and a tough hike. Vera hut and Tahune hut were both amazing. Tahune hut has hydro electric power. 25hrs of walking over 54kms (according to the Garmin) with over 2700m elevation gain. We did the hike over a 3 day period. Video footage taken on GoPro 12 and Nikon Z6II. The GoPro footage in the middle (day 2) was a bit shaky due to some settings I changed that didn't work correctly. I fixed this for day 3.

Nice one and well done Dallas. A lot better weather than what I encountered 😄 Hoping to be back there this year or early next 🤞🤞

Nice video. It’s a hard climb up to Barron Pass. I did the walk twice in the early 80s in pretty full on conditions basically going up under a waterfall and was rewarded both times with fine conditions. Nice hut these days.

You might like my Lake Rhona video from a year ago if you haven't seen that.
