      I’m a diehard Ibanez RG 570 (JB) since 89’ and a couple Jackson guitars I’ve played were nice but so much cheap Chinese crap now. I will admit my MIM Fender Strat “Blackie” can play some of the best tones I’ve EVER heard and again my (NP) RG 550 is by FAR my Favorite guitar!#Ibanez❤#RG#570/550#🎸🔥🤘🏻

    Loaded my RG550 RF with Mo Joe and Paf Joe and I love it to death.
    Pickup selector in RG550 reissue models are actually lower quality that most people think. Mine is acting up I had to replaced it with a better quality... I never had issues with all my other prestige and my good old rg370dx. Doesn't only happens to me, lots of people on internet as well.

    These newer models of the 550 like the 20th anniversary reissue and the newer Genesis models also have a full neck that goes to the 24th fret the originals had a 2 fret extension that hung over the body this is routed out and the neck goes to the neck pickup cavity but more wood on the neck isnt a bad thing, but i like the volute and 5 piece neck.
    If you take the pickguard off you will see the neck and not just an extension sitting on top of the body

    This guitar makes me feel old lol Back in high school, my friend had the next level up from the 550, the 570. It's pretty much the exact model but without a pickguard. I was so envious because I was heavily into Korn then and couldn't afford it. He had the silver that was similar to what Head used before Ibanez gave them a signature model. Right after graduation I got a RG320QSTR though, lower model down, only 2 humbuckers, no middle single coil, and no pickguard. Wasn't exactly what I wanted but I was so happy then. Still have it too in a case behind my bed lol All RG models were phenomenal guitars.

    • @ChrisTompkins-Music-And-Gear
      @ChrisTompkins-Music-And-Gear  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the build quality is close between the RG550 and the Jem-BFP, with the RG550 just feeling a bit tighter. The neck and the bridge on the RG550 are better IMO but the Jem comes with much better pickups. Hence the upgrade to this RG550.
