One of my favorite things is the announcements for peak time services going to and from Pakenham while there are level crossing removal works going on, as these are very long. Peak time Pakenham services usually always skip Westall and Yarraman and will stop all other stations, however during both the Hallam station closure in 2022 and now the Narre Warren station closure at the moment, the announcement will read as: "The next service departing from Platform 1 is the 7:04 City Loop, stopping all stations to Berwick, running express from Berwick to Hallam, then stopping all stations to Dandenong, running express from Dandenong to Noble Park, then stopping all stations to Springvale, running express from Springvale to Clayton, then stopping all stations to Caufield, running express from Caufield to South Yarra, then stopping all stations to Flinders Street via the City Loop." More often than not, the train has already departed by the time the second announcement for the service is halfway through lol. In this case the "stopping all stations except" type of announcement should be used as it would convey the point a lot better.
Two interesting ones I’ve seen were a black line colour at Caulfield for Pakenham and Cranbourne trains when they weren’t running into the city. The other was the Tait next to a magenta Showgrounds PID at Flinders Street.
Very rarely, at Southern Cross, Flagstaff, Melbourne Central or Parliament, for trains that terminate at Flinders Street and go out of service, the announcements and PIDs erroneously display that the train runs express from Flinders Street to a random station. This happened to me early this year when there was a 4:59 pm service to Kananook that went out of service once it reached FSS.
today i saw a hcmt on the sunbury line at water gardens station. i was walking with my class to hoyts to watch a movie, i was suprise to see a hcmt it was my first time seeing them on the sunbury line.
I was at Southern Cross a while ago, and one of the morning South Morang services was announced as a Hawkstowe service stopping all stations to South Morang. Was able to get a partial recording but unfortunately not a full one.
To add to some of the unique displays, one that has always fascinated me are those used throughout Sydney. They also show you real-time information about the capacity of each train carriage, so you can position yourself on the platform and board a less congested carriage. Also of note, it seems that all train, light rail and ferry PIDs in NSW seem to use the same system, based on some flavour of Linux.
A similar display to the one you showed from Clayton at the start will currently be displayed except it will be Narre Warren instead of Hallam due to the skyrail station currently being built at Narre Warren.
I remember I once saw a video of a Belgrave service at Flinders Street where the announcement said "running express from Spencer Street to Melbourne Central", even though Spencer Street station had been renamed Southern Cross years before (this was in 2013 when Flagstaff was still closed to passengers on weekends). I also saw a video of a V/Line announcement at Werribee announcing a "Southern Cross and Spencer Street" service (I assume coming from Geelong or Warrnambool, before the Regional Rail Link was opened). I can post links to both videos if anyone wishes to view them.
@@StrayaTrains "good morning customers. your next service to depart from platform 10 will be the 9:44 ringwood, running express from richmond to burnley, running express from camberwell to box hill, box hill to ringwood, then stopping all stations to ringwood. 2:56 Turns out the train was gonna skip Paisley and Galvin, as the pid is stuck in 1985, around the closure of those stations.

Also with the 10:22 Werribee service it shows newport but the 2 stations are (paisley Galvin) which closed when Altona loop opened
Quite possible. But still out of date
