hey man i know there’s a lot of negativity but this actually worked SUPER well especially during what’s going on right now with the virus it’s great to save money

if you’re truly desperate for a mousepad i would recommend getting a sheet of a4/a5 paper and laminating it. works suprising well as a mousepad, initial friction is kinda trash but good speed and stopping power also the surface feel grainy but that’s ok

Got a free magazine in the mail yesterday. After watching this, I removed mag from my wastebasket which had only papers in it, and VOILA. My wireless mouse moves very smoothly and works effectively!! So then, tried a large 2019 nice calendar I got free from my bank a couple of days ago, and FAIL. Even tho the paper looks the same quality and all, my wireless mouse doesn't like it. Pointer jumps all around. Can't control. Back to the magazine I go, and happily ever after. The magazine with maybe 10 pages is more stable than just a thin piece of paper. Tuck a little under keyboard so pages won't start to get dog eared. Guess, it depends on the kind of paper, for ex: magazine vs calendar I tried. Best part it's FREE, and no hassle.

Mice can definitely be a bit strange about what types of paper work or don't work. Things like how glossy the paper is, or what colours are on the surface. And it seems that different mice prefer different things.

Yes, it is. I was about to order a mouse pad online, but decided to see about DIY ideas first. Your video got me thinking, and there was my free mouse pad only a ft away, otherwise ready to be trashed. Being on a small fixed income, saving money is necessary, and as you say...awesome.

i usually just use a spare pillowcase as a mousepad, it covers my whole desk and it looks clean and sleek

What if u need to pay for the materials
The point is to use whatever you happen to have around the house. Most
people have old paper and wood sitting around somewhere. If you don't,
then find whatever you have that'll fit the same function, and use it
instead.

I only got cement floor boards so I’m not using that I’ll just tape down paper cause my desk has like bubbles in it
If your desk has an uneven surface, it might work to tape the paper to the back of cardboard, or the side of a box, or something else that's more flat.
Pine tree: you gonna need a floor board.

Ordered them online and the mousepad gets here a week or two after the keyboard and mouse which gets here today, just needed a temporary solution that’s good enough

It's an AULA Befire keyboard! It (sort-of) has RGB... it's actually Red, Blue, and Pink.
Overall, it works pretty well for a $20 keyboard! :)

I tried to do something like this because those Lexip feet almost float on paper, but they are so tall and narrow that the sensor looses track when going over certain spots and can get stuck on any piece that is protruding, whether paper or tape :(
But seeing this makes me want to try again...

Basically, the trouble with chroma key, is that you need good lighting (which I don't have yet). It's kind of hard to explain, but there's a demonstration in the "Green Screen DIY" video, if you'd like to know more.

Sometimes late reply's are helpful! I've just started using chroma key on my gaming channel.
Chroma keying with the sun up is really difficult. But once I've got it figured out I could do a tutorial video, if it'll help you out.

Not good for competitive gaming but for casual it will do just make sure to turn of enhanced pointer precision.

I don't know... It's not working for me... Is this laser or optical. I'm confused... Why isn't mine working at all!! IT's actually better on my black wood table. BUt I want a mousepad instead of my table... so i can use it on my bed.
It might take some experimenting. I've tried most of the mice we own, and many of them work on it, but one older mouse only works on darker (or rougher?) surfaces.
That mouse likes some book's hard-covers (also cardboard might work?). Basically it's about finding the right combination of colour/texture for your specific mouse.
Pretty sure I have optical mice. It's usually just the cheapest wired mouse I can find, and usually doesn't say what kind of sensor it has.
@@PeculiarPineTree THanks for the reply. My mouse is pretty whacked. I tried it over and over and it didn't work last night but then today it worked on the white paper surface i prepared. I slipped it under a transparent plastic cover. Hopefully it'll continue to work. It is an erogonomic wired mouse. I don't know if it's optical or laser or what not. Haha, I just hate wireless mouse because I always have bad luck with those . Not only was constantly changing batteries annoying, but i keep having trouble with battery acid in the mouse time and time again even after correctly cleaning it. I've gone thru at least a dozen of those. Going back to the start with wired mouse life
