    My 2022 Sherco SEF250 (four stroke) is fuel injected, and I generally only get about 33-35 mpg on it. That's really impressive fuel economy.

      Wow! If that's so, it really is impressive. Where are you from? I'm guessing that the kind of fuel can affect a lot. If you are from the US, I know the fuel is not as high grade as in Europe, but don't know if that can affect the mileage to that extent. Maybe @smartcarbfuelsystems can answer 😄

      @@StepstoPodium I live in the US, specifically Arizona. Maybe if I stop ripping through the desert I can come close!
      The fuel grade in the US isn't too different, it's just graded differently. US pumps show the anti-knock index (AKI) which is the average of the RON and MON. At least 95 RON (what my Sherco manual specifies) is about 91 AKI here with some math: (96 RON + 86 MON) / 2 = 91 AKI

      @Fred-mv8fx it most definitely has something to do with that desert riding chenanigans 🤣
      Oh ok! We here grade it via octanes. Our lowest grade one has 95 octanes and best is 98.

    Thank you for this testimonial, which makes me even more keen to try out Smartcarb and the Portuguese trails!
    But if I've understood correctly, does the smartcarb still require adjustment? For me, the main advantage was not to touch the carburetion settings.

      @StepstoPodium  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      De rien mon chère! 😄
      It only requires the initial adjustment. Once the bike is running properly with the SmartCarb, you don't need to touch it ever again.

    Excelente vídeo. Muito bom mesmo. Os consumos não fogem muito do original mas esse carburador tem a capacidade de adaptação sem precisar de afinação e isso vale muito para o meio onde andas o que é muito top. Muitos parabéns pelo vídeo. Abraço

    I have yet to see a bad review on the smart carb. Well done on getting 330km in a single ride

    Nice video, thanks for the time and effort you put into them. I have a question if you have time to answer, i own a 2023 beta 300 and when at idle to 1/8 throttle not under load so in neutral the bike has intermittent detonation/knocking. I tried different jetting and even the jd jetting kit but it doesn't seem to go away. My dealer said its nothing i should worry about but i just don't think it should be doing that. Do you have any ideas to fix this or is it an inherent design from beta?

    • @StepstoPodium
      @StepstoPodium  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Julian!
      Yeah, I thinks it's kind of a feature and not a defect 😂 even I and several others thought it was some kind of knocking but I guess it's just how it is. Usually the jetting from beta comes quite lean, so it can be related to that.

      @@StepstoPodium thank you brother, you put my mind at ease because the more I read up on detonation my heart sunk thinking it was going to cause me some catastrophic failure lol 😂. Much appreciated for the feed back, ride safe and keep up with your amazing and informative content.
