    Best boat ever made. Why on earth did they stop producing these.

    Dude that is a badass build I have the same boat and hadn't had a chance to really get into it yet I've had it for a couple years now I bought it for a hundred bucks off when I'm assuming is a crackhead or somebody really desperate for money quick like if you don't have the money right now I have somebody else it's going to grab it or I'll take it to the pawn shop kind of deal LOL anyway the only problem was they said it has a leak lucky for me they didn't know what a drain plug was but I got this boat as a first boat and was going to upgrade for freshwater fishing to a bass boat but see no reason to also preventing me from buying a kayak because that gets where everybody's kayak does but I can take beer radios and everything else they can't so I've been on the internet blown away by people's modifications to this little guy one dude even had a I can't remember how many horsepower jet motor like you would see they use you said you were in the Susquehanna down by the damn where all the rocks are so the propeller don't hit that's crazy I didn't know they made little jet motors that's small I'm sure it's expensive as s*** but would be ideal for shallow water if you're running an outboard but motor's that small or cheap anyway so I'd have to look into it but I have a trolling motor on mine it does make great the weight of the battery sucks but it'll hold me on 220 my 200 lb buddy and all of our s*** perfectly on a calm day I wouldn't push it in a storm unless I was alone great deal I just had some money off of me a hundred bucks and they got mad that I told them no so now I'm going to have to lock it up because they're working on my yard cutting trees down and I'm sure it'll disappear within the next few weeks because it's out back stacked over by the shed on the trailer just sitting there made me realize if I should get rid of it or not but there's no way in hell especially not for a hundred bucks if I did because of the floor work and not as much work as you did and the two little seats and all that I'd have to get at least $300 or 400 with the trailer and that's if I was desperate and I'm not so I know dudes that have this little boat that won't get rid of it for anything and they have multiple other boats so good deal great setup

    Having used a Coleman Crawdad for years, I would be afraid that these particular mods would destroy the stability and the safety of the boat itself. Don't forget your life preserver!

    What did you do with the old plastic pieces you took out I have a Coleman Crawdad also but my plastic parts are in need of some TLC and if I can just buy yours off of you then I can get by with the ones that you don't use anymore

    Nice video man!! I plan on doing something similar to mine this fall/winter. Any suggestions on the easiest way to take measurements for the deck?

    • @Kodysbackwoodsbasics
      @Kodysbackwoodsbasics  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The deck was the hardest. I would flip it over and trace but when you put the deck on you lose a bunch a stabilization just to let you know!

    What size of plywood did you use? Thanks

    Hey man how’d it float? Is it stable enough when you stand on it?

    • @Kodysbackwoodsbasics
      @Kodysbackwoodsbasics  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes it is stable enough, takes a little bit of getting used to with the deck. If anything it's more stable without the deck because you throw the balance point off.
