omg i was going to comment the same thing too. i wasnt so sure at first of how the japanese version was going to sound like but i actually like it. and Siyeon is so pretty and has a great voice. she's definitely my bias.
I agree, in fact if you've listened to their Japanese version What & Chase Me you'll also find that it sounds just as perfect as the Korean version. Big kudos to the Japanese lyricist! 👏
And yes this genre is big in Japan so I have high hopes these ladies will be much loved, maybe even more than in Korea…

Most MVs that are Korean and then J-pop always change settings. A lot of them are just simplified meanwhile others, like Dreamcatcher, still maintain the same setting but with adding/removing scenes to fit the lip sync. I love that with this MV and 'What' change things around. Will definitely watch both version from now on.

This will be long then lol! This is Dreamcatcher, a 7 members group from South Korea. They debuted on 13 january 2017 with the title track Chase Me followed by Good Night > Fly High > You And I > What > Piri > Breaking Out (Japanese Album) > Deja Vu (Collab with King's Raid). Originally 5/7 of the members were in a group called 'Minx' consist of members(Jiu, Sua, Siyeon, Yoohyeon & Dami)
.
At the point of time, their concept/music were much mainstream and the fact that they were from a small company with no revenue/connection = no promotion for minx, on top of the over-saturated kpop industry, it was very hard for them and unfortunately they did not do well :( Happy face entertainment(their agency) then decided to re-debut them into dreamcatcher with 2 additional members (Handong & Gahyeon) with the concept of nightmare/horror and rock genre sound in order to make them stand out/be unique from the other gg. They were pretty much the first gg to do this concept/music.
Honestly speaking, they have really grown alot, achieving lots of things that minx couldn't and we fans are so proud of them. From selling barely 1k albums up till now (25k++ or more albums) It's been a tough road, a very tough one, especially the risk of puttting their career on the line, doing a concept/genre no other gg has ever done before in the kpop industry, not knowing if this will work out..the girls are so talented and down to earth too, the more you dig deeper into dreamcatcher, the more charms/sides you will find more about them.
It's still a shame SO many ppl still doesn't know who dreamcatcher are :( Btw, dreamcatcher's fandom name is: InSomnia. Which mean(In dream) in latin. With the meaning of "Dreamcatcher and fans will have a happy time together in their dreams, with the meaning of being together forever" I hope this helps you.

I always like how Dreamcatcher's Japanese MV contrast so much with their Korean MV. Many companies tend to just make the Japanese MV a replica of the original MV to save budget but we have our girls here in new outfits and individual scene given to them. I hope they can become even bigger in Japan with this release!
