Hello Aly. Great tutorials. Fabulous. Electrolysis was a form of hair removal. They would permanently remove the hair from the forehead and around the face to make everything neat. It was something the studios would ask them to do like Rita Hayworth. Today they use lasers to remove the little hairs around the face.
Anna Maria Hi! Nice! I also read that they used electricity to open the cuticles of their hair to make it easier to handle and to form curls )
Oh I don't know about that but I do know they would use electricity and open the hair follicles and destroy the hair so the hair line would be removed. They still use heaters, you know those big hot cones that you sit under.
Anna Maria Wow interesting! I didn't know about that ))) I heard about the opening cuticles of hair so it would be handled easier from several people. I saw it in interview with an old lady who did this and also from a book about marilyn monroe :)
It was hard work and torture to look like a movie star. Still is.

in part 2 about the hair, i asked my nan about this and she said that girls at the factory where she worked went to get this done where they made the hair more course to hold the curl, my nan said it was a solution thats part of hair dye that opens the cuticles of the hair, but they dont add the colour stage so theres nothing to close it- causing the ''snag'' texture of the hair and girls would have super brittle hair and would have their hair set with sprays and wear hair scarves to avoid brushing and combing as itd break very easily :(

Alice Não Me Escreva I think she meant Bordeaux, wich is not a brand but the name of a color, a dark red. The name comes from the French city Bordeaux, which is renown for its red wine (whose color is, of course, Bordeaux !)
