So glad you included pics of older women in the vid! Our media doesn't like to show women who look older than like 30, and youth is seen as the pinnacle of beauty which literally disregards most of a woman's adult life.
Beauty in its most superficial understand is youth and fertility. If you want to acknowledge the deeper qualities of women both old and young, that’s to me something more than beauty. But there’s a biological reason why young women are the most desirable
Having a signature look was something that I always admired and dreamed of creating my own signature look. But I love makeup and experimenting sooo much so it made it difficult to have a signature look. Recently I tried red nails and it looked so lovely that I decided not to buy any more nail paints because I’m going to wear only red nails. This made me realise how much money I can save by creating signature look for myself and it’s better for the environment too. Now I’ve found a great pink lip stain that looks lovely on my tan skin, that’ll be the only lip product I’ll be repurchasing. I don’t wear foundation, hopefully I’ll create my signature eye look soon. Thank you for all the lessons Aly, you are the best! 😘❤️
Vibha B I love this! I’m doing that with fashion and creating a signature capsule wardrobe for myself. I’m only going to wear warm colors that look great with my complexion this way all my clothes go together. And because I’m not going to be getting a bunch of useless clothes I’m slowly buying better quality sustainable fashion. I’ve been really happy and liking my style since then! Still working on trying finding a makeup style I like but I’m at least doing better with my skincare for now.

I do classic. I focus on lips, bold reds and liner. I have gorgeous full natural African lips and like to draw attention to them with a bold red and gloss over it.

As a makeup artist; I think Instagram makeup has a time and a place but most people aren’t looking for makeup as art. They just want to enhance their natural beauty but with all of these tutorials of cake makeup it gets very confusing to people that can’t sort through. I miss people like Wayne Goss and Scott Barnes.
My ‘go to’ and what makes me feel the most beautiful is no.2. Winged eyeliner and/or a good lipstick is what looks best on me. One thing I seemed to get right before finding out I was a Theatrical Romantic lol
"I notice that the woman starts doing her makeup and she ends up adding more and more... Propably lack of technique or something else" YOU DIDNT HAVE TO COME FOR ME THAT HARD BUT OK 😂
this is the obvious, but it is not a rule. No one is going to arrest you if you wear whatever makes you happy. Make up rules are not there to interfere with your freedom of choice they are general guides, often based on science, as in case of color theory for example, that can help you look better, help create a harmonious look. And usually that is the purpose of makeup.
I can’t wait! This series is going to be fantastic... I love the way you broke the makeup styles into different groupings, and I am really excited to see you teach us how to move from one style to the other in a way that we can best personalize for ourselves.
Before your channel I did not care about makeup. Everything I knew about it was based on those horrible trends that try to completly modify women's faces until they look grotesque and not human. But since discovering your channel you have changed my mind completly. I'm slowly getting the hang of it, but still it's very difficult for me since I have droopy hooded eyes. @Pro Justice men have worn makeup for milennia, it was just in the 1800s that they stopped. Men have also done drag for just as long. In the 1700s it was still normal for noble men to wear a full face of makeup. Makeup is not originally female.
@Pro Justice drag queens create/refined techniques such as baking, contouring, highlighting, cut creases. These are used to create the "caricature" of a woman.

This is a brilliantly made video. Lots of research and effort has been put into it, and there's a fantastic mixture of ages, skin colours, and face types displayed in each category. Amazing!
I’m definitely in between 2&3. 2 for lips 3 for eyes. No contour or bronzer for my face just blush and highlight. Brows I just use a pencil and follow the natural shape of my brow. This video was really helpful!!!!!
I watched this video and I got inspired to try smoky eye for the first time in my life :) I usually put eyeshadow just in outer corners of my eyes. My eyes look like they are half opened because they have weak muscles. I thought it'll make them smaller but I actually looked glamorous :) thank you
when you said "artistic makeup" i thought "theatrical" or "runway", which can be another type because they have different focus points, goals and rules
I love how this video is straight to the point. I always get bored with youtubers making a one-minute intro and I usually end up clicking away... but your videos always capture my attention until the very end! ❤
I have always appreciated so much how you put all the emphasis on complementing our features, instead of changing them. You’re brilliant and I love your videos.
I do like to wear cosplays and costumes so i like some heavy makeup when i do them , but for everyday or for going out that a big no no for me !! I wear no makeup makeup for every day and classic for going out and occasions , i love soft pinks and browns in makeup so much ! And i do like vintage\feminine style , ilysm 💖
U just got a subscriber. I've been looking for a channel like this for a while. It took me a whilr to realize that having a full face of makeup wasnt always necessary. Thankyou
It depends on my mood, or a situation I am into recently I am really going for the 1-st one. Thank you thank you for getting so much stuff settled in our confused heads thou♥️
Thank you for including all age groups too in these three types. All so beautiful. Love your commentary. Type one and the peachy look is just right for summertime!
My makeup is concealer, smudged brown liner on the lash line, mascara, blush and a lip. Its what suits me the best. I feel like even one likes to experiment with dramatic looks you should find a look that flatters your face to the max that u could always go to. For example if I were to fill in my eyebrows I would look crazy cause theyre too much already.. thats the kind of mistakes people do with make up add a step that isnt adding anything to their face or that looks unflattering just cause you see someone else do it religiously.
Hey ally can you please do a video about eyeshadow for low set eyebrows. Alot of us struggle with eyeshadow because of no application space from low eyebrows. Thanks
Same.. mine are extremely downturned too.. that's why I don't complicate it just take somelipstick and dab it on my lids with my finger. Wearing my colour makes me look so fresh and the tiredness cause by droopiness also disappears.
Aly you are a gem! Ive learnt alot from you. Thank you for your videos. I like number 3 makeup which i think looks nicer on naturals. How can pull it off as a soft classic. Video?
The kibbe type makeup series would be sooooooo helpful! Even though my face doesn't match my kibble type (looks more natural, and I'm a romantic) I feel like I could find something that works
If your face is indeed natural, as in an answer b nose and mouth and stuff, maybe you aren't a romantic? You could be a theatrical romantic whose yang undercurrent is soft yang (natural, b) and not sharp yang (dramatic, answer a) maybe there's also some b in your bone structure you didn't consider before (romantic and natural are both wide, so it could be mistaken) which could further the theatrical a bit or even make you a borderline soft natural.
@@gittevandevelde2208 aww I have my doubts... it's just I'm too short to be a natural, but too big to be a soft gamine for example, and also Im very curvy but my lines are kind of straight, so probably theatrical romantic, yeah 😊
@@TheLatonya999 Then maybe you're a gamine or soft gamine? If you look at the yin-yang balance of my face, it culd be considered a 'theatrical romantic' face too, but my body has more yang in it, thus making me a gamine. It's about your overall yin-yang balance and a bit where it is located. You shouldn't count your face and body as separate things.
You, Alexandrasgirlytalk, and Justine Leconte are the most informative Beauty “gurus” on TH-cam. I love the technical ways you break down concepts of Beaty.
my go to look is doing winged eyeliner but keeping the rest of the face natural with a rosy lip. since i’m a highschool student i easily gave in to trends so for a while i really wanted to do instagram makeup, but i’m glad i realized it didn’t flatter me at all lmao
Hi Aly! Can you please do a video for mature women. Maybe make up and gray hair. I’m 50 and I still have a hard time picking the right makeup color for me especially having gray hair. Thank you so much!

I'm so glad you added a picture of Julia Adams MUA at 3:57 ! She's so talented and focused on technique, she does gorgeous looks and is obviously so pretty
I have a friend who just loves artistic makeup to the point where you'll see one really creative thing on her face when she goes out. It doesn't have to be a lot of intense make up, sometimes she just curls the tips of her wings and puts a flower there or something. I just think it's adorable
I prefer the natural makeup or no makeup makeup. I usually just do this style of makeup but the korean version. I only do glam makeup if I’m going out to like an event etc
You have one of the best TH-cam channels on TH-cam. I love your approach to videos! You get straight to the point. Your videos aren't all about you with little content on the actual subject. They're all about the subject with little bits about you. Not that I'm not interested in you, I am. More, when I come to a TH-cam video about a subject I'm interested in learning about the subject from the TH-camr's perspective. You have found your niche. You're very good at this format. I never get annoyed or bored watching your videos. I never feel as though you're wasting my time. I always feel like I gained a new insight. Thank you!
I'm a Natural body type and I always wear natural or smokey eyes for 15 years, I never felt comfortable with a classic makeup look, it makes my face older than I am and is harsh on my face lines :) love your content!
your voice is really calming and nice to listen to and the video has a really great lesson, which shows a good distinction between what natural makeup is and what ig models have made us think is "natural". thank you for this

Your videos are AWESOME!
Thank You 🙏
Always enjoy your channel, and your music. Thank you for also showing Older Women in your blog today. You are such a sweetheart.
Effortless beauty! Such a breath of fresh air for beauty channels 💕
I watched this video and I got inspired to try smoky eye for the first time in my life :) I usually put eyeshadow just in outer corners of my eyes. My eyes look like they are half opened because they have weak muscles. I thought it'll make them smaller but I actually looked glamorous :) thank you
I'm so obsessed with every single one of your videos omg
when you said "artistic makeup" i thought "theatrical" or "runway", which can be another type because they have different focus points, goals and rules
I love how this video is straight to the point. I always get bored with youtubers making a one-minute intro and I usually end up clicking away... but your videos always capture my attention until the very end! ❤
The way you speak and describe makeup shows it comes from your heart ❤️❤️ Thank you
I have always appreciated so much how you put all the emphasis on complementing our features, instead of changing them. You’re brilliant and I love your videos.
I remember Vogue used to say their models’ make up was “editorial.” I think instagram has become the new editorial for the younger generation.
J .S yes and a look that is totally unobtainable for us mere mortals 🤣
I am mostly into the first or second type of makeup. But sometimes I do the 3rd one also with brown colors.
Type one and the peachy look is just right for summertime!
can't wait for the new series!
Video on Myers personality type & Perfume based on the body type please
You are so wise and eloquent you scare me a little bit. But I’m so glad you chose to share your knowledge here. Thank you
Hey ally can you please do a video about eyeshadow for low set eyebrows. Alot of us struggle with eyeshadow because of no application space from low eyebrows. Thanks
I have hooded lids and low set brows
I always go for light washes of colour or elongated smokey looks, don't be afraid of blending up to the brow too
Same.. mine are extremely downturned too.. that's why I don't complicate it just take somelipstick and dab it on my lids with my finger. Wearing my colour makes me look so fresh and the tiredness cause by droopiness also disappears.
@@shreyaadahall I literally just wear thick eyeliner cause I have space for like no shadow😂
@@sa.ca5557 I don't wear eye-liners.. it's just toooo harsh.. the texture of lipstick seems to work for me for some reason...😂😂
I love mixing 1 and 2 by not using much on my eyes and focus more on my lips by using bold red or some dark colours 💕
Topic suggestion: makeup for high humidity and heat. I’m in Texas. You’re now in Florida. I’d love that. Bc my makeup deteriorates through the day.
Aly you are a gem! Ive learnt alot from you. Thank you for your videos. I like number 3 makeup which i think looks nicer on naturals. How can pull it off as a soft classic. Video?
I love how you described your channel and the style of your channel is why I watch
I have the same issue... TR face, but I am FG which makes hair and makeup a bit challenging.
Krähe ' I’m a Theatrical Romantic in a Soft Classic face 😂 I understand you
@@TheLatonya999 Then maybe you're a gamine or soft gamine? If you look at the yin-yang balance of my face, it culd be considered a 'theatrical romantic' face too, but my body has more yang in it, thus making me a gamine. It's about your overall yin-yang balance and a bit where it is located. You shouldn't count your face and body as separate things.
So excited for this series!! I've been rewatching your make-up videos recently for tips, so this is perfect for me. Thank you, Aly! 💖🌹
Thank u Aly for teaching me how to love my self even more
Hi Aly! Can you please do a video for mature women. Maybe make up and gray hair. I’m 50 and I still have a hard time picking the right makeup color for me especially having gray hair. Thank you so much!
this is amazing! I rarely watch a full video on youtube nowadays but your video is so fascinating and youre content is so captivating!! could you do a video on which colour suit what shape of lips please
I do something between 1 and 2. I love eyeliner so much, but I don't feel comfortable w/lipstick.
Had to pause at 2:06 because wow. I mean all those women are beautiful but her... wow. The red hair , pale skin, blue eyes and cherry red plump lips.. I am out of words. Such a unique beauty 💗
true
I love the natural makeup....please can you make a video about what new makeup products we should start with?
I feel like the following videos of this series are going to be the only makeup tutorials I will ever need. 😍Finally somebody who gives tips with consideration of the uniqueness that each and everyone has.
This is so exciting. I can't wait to see what you'll do next. Your videos are literal gold, Aly!! ty for posting
Excited for this series! So grateful to have found your channel, it’s really helped me navigate my own world of beauty much better
I love how you included examples of older women in your video
You have one of the best TH-cam channels on TH-cam. I love your approach to videos! You get straight to the point. Your videos aren't all about you with little content on the actual subject. They're all about the subject with little bits about you. Not that I'm not interested in you, I am. More, when I come to a TH-cam video about a subject I'm interested in learning about the subject from the TH-camr's perspective. You have found your niche. You're very good at this format. I never get annoyed or bored watching your videos. I never feel as though you're wasting my time. I always feel like I gained a new insight. Thank you!
Please talk about make up on acne. Love your work.
Very helpful known the three categories now I can apply makeup works for me
Can you do a tutorial on type one ❤️
I'm a Natural body type and I always wear natural or smokey eyes for 15 years, I never felt comfortable with a classic makeup look, it makes my face older than I am and is harsh on my face lines :) love your content!
How did I not find you 4 years ago 🙀? Your videos are so calming and soothing.
your voice is really calming and nice to listen to and the video has a really great lesson, which shows a good distinction between what natural makeup is and what ig models have made us think is "natural". thank you for this
