- I know I'm not the only one who has wondered what it would be like to live in a glasshouse. Well, look no further, because I found an ecological community in Culemborg, Netherlands, who actually DO live in greenhouses. Arguably, one of the finest in the community, is a modified glasshouse owned by Amar and Jeroen, and for which we'll take an extensive tour-both indoors and out on the grounds.

I've been getting some comments from folks on my other videos as to why I'm not safely sheltering in. Please note: I am safely at home in New York-sheltering in. I live in the tropics,a few kilometres away from the ocean, a few mins away from a Lake, surrounded by coconut trees and get lots of fresh fish and veggies, people think its awesome but it's really humid and warm 😂.

Only 5 degrees below outside summer temps is pretty brutal though. That would mean Summers where I live would routinely be 27 to 32°C (~80-90°F) indoors!

i'm so impressed with the sustainability of the eco-village !!!
imagine if we all transform our cities into such villages we can almost reverse climate change !!
That would be great! That's the whole idea behind the development of this eco-district (EVA-Lanxmeer) and to inspire other places to do this, so spread the word! There are other eco-districts and measures that can be done. Love how Amar incorporates both modern architecture along with Mother Nature in this eco-village. Such a lovely community, would be a dream to live there or even have something like this where I live. Years ago, we had a huge whitefly plague, probably from over-spraying for mosquitoes, they killed all the spiders & predators. I sent away for lace-wing larvae and it was amazing how quickly the problem went away!
Breadfruit Trees are some of the HUGEST Trees. We Lost one in the last hurricane.

I too live (and work) in a greenhouse. There is one headhouse where my room is located, and then attached to the headhouse are two rows of 6 greenhouses each. Part of my compensation is being able to live there. I am a student, and the greenhouses are owned by a university.
I find very hard to medítate but having plants really makes me let my phone away and have relaxing moments

Amazing! I have often said I want to live in a greenhouse. I have seen videos of homes in Europe that had greenhouses built around them and houses with some big windows. This takes it to a whole new level. Also, I am a cat lady who dreams of having a "cat room." I just love everything about this one. Thank-you Summer and Amar. What a fabulous collection both inside& outside. I do hope the chickens get have a little roam in the garden at the end of the day before roosting... they would certainly appreciate some of that surplus Swiss Chard hanging in their coop to peck at too.
After watching this making me realize how much light I wanted to have in my house to make my plants happy and can grow much bigger plants. I have tbh I’m very jealous!!
