- While on a short stopover in Detroit, MI, I was told that I "had" to go see Telly's Greenhouse in nearby Troy-a four-decade, family-owned and operated greenhouse selling houseplants, annuals, and perennials. Well, let me just say I was bowled over with their wide selection of some very hard-to-find plants-not to mention how nice and full many of their plants were. Dare I say they might have a BETTER selection than most plant shops in NYC. But you can be the judge of that!

This is probably the best nursery in USA
It's so adorable how the owners are just spamming Summer with their plants. Lol. They're like look at this one! That one! This one! You can really tell they love and are proud of their collection. I feel need to watch this 2 more times because there really are a lot of plants in this video.

I think this is hands down, the best plant tour I've seen to date. I watch it 3 times.. It was so much fun. The owners story was precious. The only thing missing was me😊

43:00 Wow, when he said people are on vacation, and he takes care of their bonsai and charges by the inch. That’s amazing. It’s like a pet. I feel like bonsai is one of the coolest plant topics. I always imagine bonsai owners take so much care and have so much patience. Very cute to see he boards them.
One of my favorite things about Tellys is when they have a bunch of bonsai in and I get to admire the work and artistry that went into growing them up to the size that they are

That nursery is Heaven👍🏻 I especially liked that they had huge sections of Hoya , philodendrons , syngoniums , and the variegated aroids. I would lose my mind ( and my wallet ) in there (:

Summer, Tellys is by far the best greenhouse I have been to in Michigan. I’m about an hour from there and go every couple months. George is great. They always have an excellent selection. I don’t I think I have ever had a plant die from them. I was so excited to see this visit on your channel!! Thank you!

I always say, " If they don't have the plant you want at Telly's, you don't need that plant!" I live 5 minutes away from the Shelby location & 15 minutes from the Troy location, so I'm pretty blessed!

I'm going to have to make a trip here! My local greenhouses are sad or they only do outdoor plants. Its not too far away maybe a few hours!! Looks like heaven to me. For a small business they have a really large selection. This might be my new favorite place to buy houseplants (even maybe outdoor plants) I am so excited!

Telly’s Syngonium Ice Frost or Frosted Heart are AMAZING. Super healthy, with roots busting out of the bottom of the planter. Just a great plant. They have some of the healthiest specimens right now for sale.

Spectacular collection. Wish my local nurseries in Pretoria South Africa had such an extensive selection of rare indoor plants.
haha I was literally thinking the exact same thing. I think most of our nurseries tend to cater more to garden plants. we definitely do have spectacular gardens even if I just take a walk down the road I often come across really fun plants that aren't readily available at nurseries so I have a feeling that the plant tradition in our city leans more towards gardens rather than indoor plants. the more rare indoor plants tend to be found on fancy cpt/jhb based online stores.

THANK YOU ,THANK YOU!!!! for this video and introducing me to Telly’s Greenhouse! We drove 2.5 hours yesterday from Kalamazoo, MI to see it and IT WAS WORTH EVERY MINUTE OF THE DRIVE! I was able to bring home backseat full of lovelies including a Philo Goeldii, Alocasia Macrorrhiza (Stingray plant) and a beautiful Hope philodendron (plus about 8 others! 😬). Love your channel and you honestly made my day introducing me to a little piece of heaven in my own state!!
Thank You, Summer, Sander and Telly's Greenhouse ! Wonderful collection and tour. I needed to extract my rose seeds from their hips and this was ideal to watch as I did my work. I have 2 eyelash begonia setting amongst my primulinas and ioanthas. Too, as I work the wind is making the chimes sing along with episode and its music. Very Wise to include previous episodes for those folks just discovering. Just Awsome!

So blessed to call this my home nursery! George and Jan are super active in the greenhouse, extremely friendly, and truly love what they do. Like, such nice people... seriously. Not to mention the quality of the product is unmatched, and the prices are very fair. Worth the trip!

This is the best tour, the excited passion of the owners is infectious. Getting to see the mother plants and the babies was really cool. This is actually my second time watching this, good job summer!

Wow, they really set the bar high for a rare plant shop/nursery! I've never seen that selection in a brick and mortar store before! I'd go broke if I lived anywhere near MI lol.

Wow - fantastic selection, the epipremnums and standleyanas were pretty large, not to mention amidryum, which IMO is pretty underrrated.

Everything was vibrant looking.
I saw this video a week ago when I woke up in the middle of the night a 2am and couldn’t go back to sleepy. I thought about this greenhouse so much I decided to take a 4hour road trip from Chicago just a few day later. Trust me when I say it was worth it. Spent over 600$ on plants and didn’t regret a penny!

I wish I could find somewhere that has such a wide range of plants near me. I mainly order online from specialist nurseries or buy from garden fairs. His story was inspiring and will give a lot people hope, I wish him all the best in the future. Great video Summer
