On the pet name thing. My cousin texted me in advance that she was planning to name her daughter my dead cat’s name, and asked if I would be okay. It’s a pretty uncommon name, but honestly? It’s so flattering. I love remembering my cat! I do think the friend could have said something, but at the same time - names are names and people can’t help what names they connect with! Naming humans is hard! ❤
My greatgrandma was apparently a "mean old cuss" and hated dogs. She'd hit and kick them. My mom named our family dog after her out of spite and would talk often about how she was turning in her grave

Story 3: I'm a lesbian and in our community, raimbow/blue/purple colored hair is used to reflect our queerness. So definitely not doing it to appeal to men.

That is SO frustrating, about the name! Normally with things like that, _they_ never say it but it gets dragged out of the ether somewhere and posted by good samaritans in the comments, if you look hard enough. (I remember another story just like this--the NAME, everything weird about the NAME, people freaking out and yelling at me about the NAME, but they never said: _what IS the freaking name?! In that case, somebody DID find out, and snitched. Thank you.) But nope, not this time. The dog must've had a very person-y name, because when they realised that everybody would be saying "What? NOBODY would instantly think that's a dog's name whenever that kid is introduced! That's a people name!" THAT'S, when they deleted the post.
i think the flag thing happens in most countries now. because right wing extremists made it that way. i'm from chile and if anyone has a flag in their name i KNOW as a FACT that theyre conservative/right wing/patriots/or even neon*zis. is insane. - i dont like my country much but people here can't even love their country because extremists made patriotism a bad thing.
I’m personally insulted by story 3!! Just kidding, lol. 😂 As a blue haired human of the feminine persuasion, I care approximately 0% what other men find attractive when it comes to my hair. Luckily, I’m not shopping & have been with my partner for 13+ years. I switched to blue around year 7 or 8. And other than the mild annoyance he has with the occasional blue stains caused by my hair dye when it accidentally lands somewhere unintended (I color my own hair, usually), he loves my blue locks. Honestly, I get more compliments on my hair since I went candy-colored than ever before. It’s a great conversation starter & also a great way to weed out narrow-minded (usually shitty) people. 😂 I look forward to being the crazy old lady with brightly colored hair!

For the last story, animals are a true gift from God and if he was my neighbor I would tell him to come over whenever he would like, no matter what time and me being me, I'd cook for him, bake him things he likes or make things for him I would love a neighbor like him!
