    Ganglion cysts can occur anywhere. They usually occur at the wrist area, however ganglion cysts may occur at the foot (usually at the top of the foot). This mass can change in size, and it may grow slowly. The patient notices a mass usually on the top of the foot. The mass is usually asymptomatic. The patient may have burning sensation due to irritation of the nerve when the ganglion compresses the nerve. The patient may skin irritation and also may have difficulty in walking and wearing shoes. If the ganglion is pushing on a nerve and causing irritation, aspiration or surgical removal of the cyst can help in relieving the symptoms. We need to differentiate ganglion cyst of the foot from plantar fibromatosis. Plantar fibromatosis occurs at the bottom of the foot. Ganglion cysts will transilluminate. Plantar fibromatosis. Tarsal tunnel syndrome is a compressive neuropathy which is caused by compression of the tibial nerve around the ankle region. A ganglion cyst can be one of the intrinsic causes of tibial nerve compression. In the tarsal tunnel, the patient may have pain and burning sensation. An MRI is probably needed for the diagnosis of a ganglion cyst in the tarsal tunnel. They found that the best result after surgery occurs when there is a ganglion cyst compressing on the nerve and this cyst is removed.

    Had my top ankle cyst removed and the surgeon removed the sac, but, the cyst almost the next day after surgery came back and now presses on a nerve, tingling all the time

      Does happen I have one for 2 years I considered aspiration but came back twice. If the sac is not completely removed you will see it reoccurring. Probably your surgeon popped it and it was not removed completely, making it to form a new sac.

    I would like to know why the body produces these lumps and is this what causes a bunion, is it the same thing?

    • @edwardstanulevich1764
      @edwardstanulevich1764 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      A ganglion cyst is a fluid filled bubble in the tissue that surrounds a joint or the sheath that covers a tendon. We don't fully understand why they form, but we think it is due to repetitive irritation of the soft tissue. They typically happen over joints that have repetitive motion. They do not involve bone and are not the same as a bunion.
      Bunions involve the bone we call the first metatarsal. Most bunions are due to this bone shifting medially (towards the centerline of the body). Genetics play a major role in this happening, but shoes that put pressure on your big toe probably make them happen faster. Bunions often have extra bone growth (exuberant bone) due to the changes in pressure on the bone. One cause of the first metatarsal shifting is muscular weakness in your feet. But there are a lot of other factors that play into their cause.

    I have one one on top of my foot for about 2 years. It started small and was softer but now it is size of a plum or golf ball and is very hard when I press. Are they normally hard. I'm worried it could be a Cancer lump. I showed to doctor and he has referred to sergeon but I'm still waiting about 5 months later.

      @xxxicequeenxxx ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is me a year later… i’m in the same predicament as you . Probably won’t get it removed for another year or so I don’t even know at this point. All the doctors I’ve been seeing can’t help with anything I’m not responding to treatment at all. They want me to have surgery but my insurance doesn’t cover a lot of doctors and the doctors they do cover aren’t the best I’m over this whole thing but what can we do but push on? We have to do what we have to do I’m gonna try and wait it out until I can find a better doctor to operate. The doctors tell me they don’t even know what it is in my foot it could be a cyst or tumor.

    • @martymartin2894

      @@xxxicequeenxxx what country are u in. Why do u think u won't get it removed for another year surely if doctors suspect it is cancerous they should act more quickly. I was hoping the reason I'm being left so long is that the doctor must be fairly sure it is a ganglion cyst and not a cancerous lump. At least that's what I hope. Then on the other hand I wonder do doctors even care anymore. Their is a big change since that plandemic.

    • @1LightWarriorPrincess
      @1LightWarriorPrincess 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They do not have a home remedy for this. Weather they try to see if aspiration (sucking the fluid out with a needle) works. Some people end up developing it again and some may not. Some people who keep getting it back go back and aspirate it whenever it gets to uncomfortable to them. And some people see if surgically removing will solve the problem. There is no guarantee for any of these to work or any one or combination might work. The human body is not a formula. Every body decides how to react to any treatment in their own way. But 1 thing is for sure, there is NO solution like oil, ointment or cream you can put on that will make it go away… Good luck…
