    I wish I had a son that serviced my bike. I used to do the work on my sons bike until he moved away. Like you I come from a generation that never had the money to take my bike in for a service. We learned how to do it because we had to.

      Cheers James, yep ya got that right, garages are so expensive I only use them if it's a must, most things can be done at home, I've built engines up from scratch on the bench many a time, still it would be nice to have the cash to be able to take it to the garage occasionally though, RSM8.

    I done oil and filter change just before your hunny run last year, I did use proper m/c oil the main reason is it's still under warranty.
    Look forward to seeing you soon. RSMF

      @SkeggyCruiser  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, if it's still under warranty your probably best sticking to what they specify bud, as for us meeting up it shouldn't be too long bro, meanwhile RSM8.

      Hi Kev Sorry I missed your comment, hope you've got your charging problem sorted buddy, as far as I'm aware the 750 is very similar when it comes to servicing just the air filter thats in a different place, cheers buddy and RS.

    loving the vids m8, had no idea you had access to a trike, would love something similar for winter next year :) would mean i wouldn't have to bloody walk to work in the snow :)

    • @SkeggyCruiser
      @SkeggyCruiser  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers bro, yeah I built it up for him last winter, they're definitely plenty of fun in the snow, I had a lowrider hardtail chopper trike, loads of fun, a lot of folk don't like trikes, I just say well you obviously haven't ridden one yet, lol, RSM8.

    That's a fancy drain container. I just use the washing-up basin ! ;-) Love internal oil filters...... not ! KISS principal denial. 'Keep it simple, stoopid!'
    If you can torque a nut then you can do anything better than the 'pro's' - if you know the proceedure. Which is why youtube is so great ! Care is as good as anything.

    • @SkeggyCruiser
      @SkeggyCruiser  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haha! just bought the oil container that morning as the dog chewed my old one, lol, the old one was a cat litter tray, bloody messy old internal oil filters, thank god someone invented the external ones eh! ya gotta love youtube, I know I've found it very useful, especially these days as the memories not what it was, lol, RSM8.

      Bloody Dogs ! If I had a pound for every time a dog chewed up something useful I'd have 23 quid and I'd be down the boozer.........

    I wish my son would come round and do the maintenance on my bikes. All he tends to do is drop off his bike for me to work on it. Lol !

    • @SkeggyCruiser
      @SkeggyCruiser  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hahaha! you obviously haven't trained him right, lol, my dad taught me all these things growing up so he didn't have to continue helping me out, good thing too as nowadays he's not up to it, Thanks & RSM8.

    Nice job Skeggy and love the fat skeleton hat. I tried to start my bike and it wouldn’t turn over, even with the battery tender that was on it all winter. Can’t blame though, as the bike still has the original battery from 2009. Ride safe mate.

    • @SkeggyCruiser
      @SkeggyCruiser  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers mate, I love my hat, bad news the bike not starting, I assume it's sulking, lol, it's been a long winter,
      I assume you've ordered a new battery by now then, " Tongue in cheek" lol, RSM8.

    dont suppose you still have the original side stand do ya?? one on mine is about 2 inches too short, leans bike over really bad

    • @SkeggyCruiser
      @SkeggyCruiser  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers Neil, I'll ask my dad but I don't think so, I did see one on ebay for the 535 at about £15 but it's about 50 miles away from me, it did say he'd post it though, if I don't get back to you it'll be because He's already got rid of his side stand, RSM8.

    Things dunnarf take longer when you're buggering about with cameras mate don't they? :) I would suggest a nice bike lift but not much use with a trike :) Looking forwards to the nicer weather. tcrsm8

    • @SkeggyCruiser
      @SkeggyCruiser  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hahaha! yep tell me about it, as ya know a service takes no time really, but put a camera into the equation and all of a sudden you've just added a couple of hours onto it, lol, that'll have to be 2 bike lifts then, i'll get em ordered mate, lol, a bit of warm would be nice right now, it's about time eh! RSM8.

    Until you strip the long m6 like i did.... Thread came out with the bolt leaving me ina bit of a leaky situation, didnt over tighten just loosened it and there isnt enough meat to tap and die eithe ugh lol

    • @SkeggyCruiser
      @SkeggyCruiser  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Damn bro, now that's not what you want to happen, how did you get around that in the end, M8 or thread lock and crossed fingers, lol. RSM8.

    • @DaveSkillzGaming
      @DaveSkillzGaming 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Only happened the other day, I got a 100m m6 gutter bolt as the original was 95mm long and apparantly there was 5mm more thread down there with another 2mm distance from the end so it seems to be holding even if the gutter bolt looks like shit its a temp solution for now

    Skeggy you realise that the oil getting on your hands will make them nice and soft and supple!!!! Nothing like new oil in your bike. To get the oil off my pipes I use brake cleaner as it cleans nice and it isn't expensive.

    • @SkeggyCruiser
      @SkeggyCruiser  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hahaha! It would take a fair bit of oil to get my hands supple mate, always got a blister of callus somewhere from hand tools, lol, I tend to use brake cleaner for the pipes at home but round dads he didn't have any in, well he did, "Mine" until I used it all cleaning his brakes, lol, forgot to order new, RSM8.
