8 years ago, I was sad when the Martinsburg WV mall closed in 2016. It was kinda look like this. I enjoyed the discounted product I got from Boscov due to its closing but it was a sad moment. Now, they built individual buildings for the big store .
I really want to document as many malls as I can, while they are still here. Including Meadowbrook, which I have a personal connection to. I also saw a video for a really awesome dying (turning into office space) Mountaineer Mall in Morgantown. :-)
Man, this is so sad to see all of these malls closing. Makes me wonder when Woodfield will be closing. I feel like it's just a matter of time. I'd like to know what they will do with all the land these malls are on. I guess we can blame things like Amazon and other online retailors for the demise of these malls. Our society has gotten lazy over time preferring home delivery over getting out and exercising a little while walking around to shop.
I feel Woodfield will be around for a long time. It's pretty much an attraction at this point being the biggest mall in the area, Streets of Woodfield, and its central location. There is definitely some other malls in the area that are in danger that I will be covering in upcoming videos. Amazon is a factor. Home delivery is a factor. But also ownership. Most Simon malls are thriving. Most of these properties want to go "mixed-use". Something I will be discussing more in an upcoming mall video.

I live in Colorado now but in 1997 I lived in an apartment with my new wife across from Stratford Square.
That is awesome! This place was peak of malls in the '90s. :-)
@@memoriesbywayne remember seeing Walter Payton at the Dominicks shopping across the street from the mall shortly before he passed away.
