  • I delete the ABC (active body control) suspension on my 2003 Mercedes CL55 AMG to Coilover Suspension from Yellow Speed Racing. I will be doing the rear suspension only in this video. Front ones will be on the next video. Enjoy!

    I’ve had nothing but problems with the hydronic suspension so I’m going to do what you did with my 03 cl55

    Doing this right now. Tried to separate ball joint to replace arm with w220 arms to accomodate sway bars. One side was pita but got it loose. But driver side was impossible and the tool exploded. I guess I will just have a mechanic install these with new ball joint after I convert to power steering pump. Great tutorial!

      Did you lubricate it very good? I used PB blaster and left it over night and the tool took it out.

    Hello, Do you still have this vehicle? I just wanted to know how the Yellow Speed have been working since you've installed them. Any issues or ride-related problems?
    Also, Is there a certain height that Yellow Speed could set them at before they ship them based on your tire size?

    You can tell you don't work in metric very often, nobody could ever think that 13mm bolt was 8mm who worked with metric all the time.

    Can you provide the plug info; where to buy and specs? How did they do? Leaks? Front video mentioned leaks.

    • @bmancars3237
      @bmancars3237  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Plugs I bought locally from a hydraulic and hose specialty store. They has all different types. The ones I bought were quick release adapters which i capped, but the plugs were a couple of millimeters bigger which I used my table grinder to grind down to 15 millimeters. Also, I used RTV black to seal any potential leaks. And the leaks were due to me not using rtv the first time around. One I used rtv, no more leaks.

      I will eventually going to do that as well, but with the CL's and even SL's they are a bit hard to find and do. I will research it more and hopefully I can get that video done as well in the near future.

    I’ve got an 04’ S55 AMG with 155K. I bought it with 17,000 miles. I’ve never once had an ABC issue because I routinely serviced the ABC system like you’re supposed too. That’s what kills these systems is the fact that deposits are formed after pentosin goes through countless heat cycles. Bad fluid and contamination of debris in the system is what kills it.
    The ABC system was developed by Mercedes F1 racing division. Countless of engineers and millions of dollars spent on R&D and I laugh whenever I see people like y’all put coil overs on an ABC Equipped AMG.
    It’s worse than putting lipstick on a pig. Ride quality goes down significantly and the car feels like a wooden plank driving down the road with body roll regardless of what brand coilovers you use.
    Long story short. Maintain it like an AMG should be maintained and you won’t have any issues. Maintain it like a Honda Civic? Well here you are slapping coilovers on an AMG 🤦‍♂️

      Still looking for the module to delete or block the signal on the dash. But I'm used to it now and really doesn't bother me. Some of the forums discussed the removing of a #9 fuse from the driver fuse box that will take care of it as well. Haven't tried it myself though.

      BMAN CARS okay yeah I heard it’s a hassle to delete the code. My cars hydronic line blew out 3 times now and I’m over the hydronic suspension. Can you send me a link to the exact coils you got? I’ve seen some for the sl55 but not to sure if it’s going to be the same as the Cl55. If you can do that that would be awesome
