Hey Cheryl(Huge fan of your videos)!, I just wanted to clarify the stages of mitosis and the number of chromosomes involved in each stage, because it is driving me nuts! During interphase, there are 92 chromatids (46 chromosomes). then in prophase, the 46 chromosomes line up straight down the middle of the cell. During Metaphase, the micro-tuble spindle fibres attach to each end of the 46 chromosomes (92 chromatids are attached by the spindle fibres, 46 on each side). during anaphase, the spindle fibres begin to contract and the chromatids separate (46 chromatids on each side). Finally, during metaphase, there are 92 chromatids in the cell (46 on each side). Then after cytokinesis, there are two separate cells, each with 46 chromosomes( therefore 46 chromatids)
