This is the best ever cell cycle class I had... Really I understood concept very well... I can relate you to one my school teacher, who always made her classes interesting...... You are inspiring me to explain all these concepts in Kannada ( my mother toungue - Karnataka, India).... So that many more students, especially the rural students will continue their studies in science stream... Here in India we the students who studies in local language medium will find it hard to study science, as in higher studies they have to suddenly switch to a English medium...when they switch to English medium they find it hard to understand every word and just opt to move away from science stream... ( even I faced such problems )... Hopefully I can help them in future...

Hello NinjaNerd! I think I may have found a discrepancy in this video around 16:20. During the S phase you state that the cell becomes tetraploid (4n) - I believe the cell stays diploid but has 4C (twice the amount of genetic material) after replication.
During endoreduplication, the cell replicates its DNA without going through the usual process of mitosis. This results in a tetraploid cell with four sets of chromosomes. During anaphase. In mitosis DNA content is doubled during S phase resulting in 2n chromosomes having two chromatids so, yea

i dont think it goes from 2n to 4n in mitosis. it stays 46 chromosomes with a diploid number of 2n but it now has sister chromatids. so you have 92 total chromatids. number of chromosomes stays the same in mitosis.

"number of chromosomes stays the same in mitosis." Not after the sister chromatids separate during anaphase and on into telophase, prior to cytokinesis. At that point, the cell is 4n.

I studied molecular biology and took cell biology as part of my undergrad degree. I wish we had videos like this in my day to reinforce learning. Excellent video!
i dont think it goes from 2n to 4n in mitosis. it stays 46 chromosomes with a diploid number of 2n but it now has sister chromatids. so you have 92 total chromatids. number of chromosomes stays the same in mitosis.

@@noorbhatia1200 it's kinda funny he even talked about how the number of chromosome means the number of centromeres independently on the number of actual DNA copies but still made the very mistake

Not after the sister chromatids separate during anaphase and on into telophase, prior to cytokinesis. At that point, the cell is 4n.

I just took my biology exam last Monday and it's all about cell cycle, sadly 100% of the students failed the exam, but as for consideration of our Biology teacher, we are going to take remediation exam tomorrow and this video really helps me a lot!
