Special shout out to Danny Hart. He came in 6th but maybe he wished he could have skipped the race to be home with his wife and new baby. Amazing that he could focus on racing.

@@CalgaryDynastar I know you're kidding, but watch Danny's interview on the replay (on Red Bull TV) and watch his interview after he placed 2nd at Leogang, where he was holding his first little girl during the interview. I get the vibe that his kids mean the world to him.
Danny smashed it. The course was a fair bit wetter than the final 3!

Gutted for Bernard but I loved the sportsmanship, he was one of the first over to congratulate Pierron. What a beast he is... He is on fire at the moment.
I saw that and I was thinking how hard it must be for him to pretend he was happy that he missed his first WC win by .4 so Amaury cold win his fourth this season.
@@JubeProductions There was a moment on the broadcast while Pierron was celebrating, and you could see Emilie was consoling BK. From his body language you could tell he was gutted to have missed out by that little, BUT, I don't think he dwelled on it too long. He seems to be pretty stoked with the 2nd place finish, as he should be.

@@hazbutler no doubt it hurts to come second, especially by such a small margin. I guess the only consolation is you were beaten by a faster rider, there's not much you can do about it. Pierron is red hot at the moment too
Loris getting 8th with a crash was the most mindblowing part of this race to me
Yeah he was on a hell of a run, I think he would have made the podium if he kept pushing. Tho understandable that he let up a bit after coming 2 inches away from completely obliterating his neck
Track dried alot, made up made seconds with the speed of top/bottom
When he crossed the line in 4th, even he was like wtf!, 4th!? I bet he wished he'd pushed a little more after coming off.
Bernard is a regular winner of Red Bull Hardline which I hope he remembers in his disappointment here. We were always impressed mate and this was an outstanding run 👊
Wanted Bernard to win. Guy is so talented. So, so close!

@@lokash He is a local at that mountain, or at least rides there a lot. He won national races on that course before. I'm surprised no one else tried it. I think Cathro said he didn't try it all weekend at practice and was holding it close.

84 Podiums for Minnaar if you go 1-5, 22 Wins, 25 2nd, 17 3rd, 9 4th and 11 5th (only Gee Atherton has more 4th Places with 12) Minnaar holds the most of all the rest!!

Watching everyone almost go down in the rocks I can finally say I looked like a World Cup Downhill racer at Snowshoe. I don't think people understand how steep that double drop is coming out of the woods. Even when it's dry that hill after it is usually littered with 4 inch (100mm) square rocks that just make you slide down that Hill. I can't even imagine it when it was muddy
PEOPLE NEED to see those Drops and Just HOW steep it is in person !!!! HOLY SHIT...
The first drop is not only steep on the backside, the run up is just as steep but in the opposite direction.

The Rocks of Mount St Anne are only 450 million years old. SURE, it is older than the Alps, but Cairns was set over a billion years ago. There is indigenous rock art in them there hills that prove it. Those fellas were mighty stoked when the colonials brought Continental tyres, Fox forks, Active Suspension and COVID over to shred the nar, 250 years ago.

You know Ben, as I watched while the 1st, 2nd & 3rd spots were held by athletes all on Conti tyres, I was thinking to myself, huh, coincidence or did the tyres really help make a difference? What tyre were they on, do you know, Argtotal? Also, what's the Conti social media/advertising going to look like after a result like that.

Allways great videos from you @bencathro but why not use elbow pads. I often see notes about racers having to skip training and racers due to ellbow injuries that a good pad could have mitigated.

@@thingswelike Me too! I'll admit that it took a while for me to warm up to Elliot, but I think he's brillant as a side-kick to Warner, and I really appreciate the insight he offers into WC racing.
@@kristianvrum8979 I don't know. I find he giggles a lot but if you actually listen to what he says, his commentary adds very little. "He really wants to win this one", "you've got to go real fast in this section", "I knew X back in the day..." "I saw him in the pits signing autographs like a superstar". He just doesn't seem knowledgeable - maybe a bit about the US riders - but most of the time his commentary takes me out if the race, with me thinking "no shit Captain obvious" or "so what?". I watch it with my son's and they can't stand him (no, I didn't mention it to them). Maybe it's a euro/us difference in commentary style - idk. Claudio Calori is funny though, I like him. I think there are people who can't stand him or Rob.
