I have a new to me 3720. My fuel gauge was stuck at full till it ran out. Then suddenly said it was empty and ran out. Is this what was happening to yours?

Yes. I can’t remember if mine was stuck on empty or stuck in full but regardless it was in one of the positions and was just a pain.

So mine was stuck on full. I replaced the expensive probe, exactly as you’ve demonstrated here. It worked great ‘One Time’ only. I’ve found the gauge cycles fully and pegs to Full with the connector removed from the instrument cluster panel. The panels are now over $1,000 from JD. Another TH-cam contributor is adding resistors to bring the shorted JD gauges back into range. Best wishes to all.

@BillSciscoe ...I would love to know what you find out and what you do to fix the problem with the gauge. Mine has been showing full for years now. Just today though...it showed low fuel on my display screen....it's 1/2 full! I have know idea...

@desmetde ...will try as soon as it cools off. Will be taking the fuel tank off and cleaning it out. I'm sure it's full.of gunk!! Hopefully, this process will fix my stalling out issue. Then I'll go after the gauge! Thanks
