I will be so excited to share pictures! I personally cannot wait - I always wanted to have the space to essentially have a cutting garden for flowers so super exted!
Well done on being so productive while starting a new job. I adore your animal print ponte Harper. It’s glorious and the cream one looks so cozy. Also I agree with dizzy quilts and sews, changing the differential on my overlocker helps with the ripplyness of the seams. And what an epic planting session you’ll have with all those bulbs. I’d love to see pics or video as you go along.
Yes this is great advice on the differential feed, I am going to cut off the band and try again with a change - fingers crossed this will deliver a good result! I hope that you are well and looking forward to the change in seasons (I think you are in South Africa or did I get this wrong?). I will take pictures of my progress on the garden - I am already getting sucked in, about to place an order for garlic and onions to plant as well 😂
Wow you were really productive this week, even with starting a new job! I love all the makes. I used to get a lot of waviness when I sewed chunkier knits on my serger until I learned to play with the differential feed. On my serger, just moving it to 1.5 made all the difference in the world and I don’t get much waviness anymore. 😊
Thank you for the idea of the storage bags. I might make some of these for gifts. I love hearing about your garden. I have been wanting to get some cardigans made. You did well! I love your videos.
Thank you so much! I was thinking myself that they could be great gifts filled with goodies for any age! The small is super cute for a kid to bring toys or drawing materials out and about but I am keen to make some for shoes as I just learned I have an upcoming work trip to the UK!
You started a new job and got all that sewing done?! You are fantastic! I love the Sinclairs that you made! There are so many cardigan patterns and I love all of them!
I haven't read any of the comments, but I'm sure several viewers have already suggested IT'S THE DIFFERENTIAL feed on the serger. It'll drive you nuts until it's resewn. It's looks very nice on you. It's very easy to remove Seger threads just find the thread of the needles or needle(if using 3 or 4 threads) and pull on them first and the other two will just fall off. That's why I ALWAYS use a different colour in the needle position.
Hey Marissa! Your cardi's looks so great! I've tried that pattern a few times but I think I need to make it in Ponte or French Terry. I used lighter weight fabrics and I really didn't like the results at all. The length looks great on you. My fave is the cream coloured one. Good luck with the gardening! No gardens here in our basement apartment! I look at your pics of land with great admiration! Glad you're making the most of it! Things are starting to cool down here enough to wear jumpers (sweaters) without jackets and coats, which is the best! Keen to see the next batch of makes. I recently made a hazy purple coloured corduroy Cozi Jacket by Pattern Scout, with the collar expansion and zip front. It's really cool!
Wow your jacket sounds SO lovely and the color sounds really nice as well - I do love purple! One thing I have here is space (too much frankly as mowing takes hours) so keen to do something fun with it! I used to be super into gardening and actually start university studying horticulture so it is quite nice to sort of restart that interest! I am jealous of the cooler weather - it is 8pm here and I actually have the air con on in my office as I cant cool off - crazy for October in the Northern hemisphere!!
@@theumbriansewist Love, I hear ya! After a lifetime of living in a climate that was HOT 3/4 of the year, I so enjoy the season changes in the northern US. I'm not a gardener, however, I'm always impressed with those who are. Seems like the perfect opportunity for you to get back to your 'roots'...haha, see what I did there ;)...Very cool! enjoy!!!
Marisa, Your Harper's are very nice....and cozy. It seems a shame not to take the bands off the off-white one and try it again, maybe with your sewing machine. It's too nice a fabric not to fix the issue. If you have a walking foot, that would help. I watch all your videos. A request...please hold whatever you are holding up to show us a few seconds longer. Maybe it takes my eyes a bit longer to focus on the item. But I would like to be able to take a look at it, in particular, a pattern. Thanks for sharing. Suzanne
Amazing work, well done. With a new job and an eight year old I am in awe.
Ha Ha thank you, I feel like the reason I get a lot done is I do things in small batches - so 15 minutes here and there.
Love the garden patch. Will love to see the flowers when they come in. The cardigans look great!

Love your two Harper cardi's they look great!
Thank you so much!
The storage bag looks very cute! Lovely to hear about your veggie plans!!!! Hope the job is going well!!!
Thank you very much - new job is going well but working is SO much more boring than sewing 😂

You are right there are so many cardigans out there but for me this Harper Cardigan is brilliant because there are just so many length options!
Yes! Autumn clothes just this week in the Washington, DC area. We have 100 bulbs to plant. Got through 25, so we are off to a good start!
Oh how lovely - you will have a stunning garden come spring time - nothing like bulbs to look forward to!
@@theumbriansewist Planted 50 bulbs with my 5 year old grandson today! Muddy boy...!
Fabulous video, love your garden, I’m picking dahlias from our garden in 🇬🇧 and bringing inside. 💐
I love Dahlias! I will be plant them next spring as well so I can cut them and bring them inside!
I made some stuff in spring for Fall. 😁I made the Love Notions Sybil Skirt with a knit that looks like corduroy.
Oh lovely, I have seen those corduroy looking knits and have been interested in trying them!

Perfect - good job for a work break tomorrow - I think that is the perfect 15 minutes break task 😂

@@faithmathingsdal79 ha ha love the word play 😂
Maybe shortening the neck band on the cream cardigan would reduce the waviness at the front?
Hmmm, yes this is a great idea

Thank you and great suggestion.I think in general I need to slow down - this can apply to my entire life 😂
Start a new job and sew 5 things! What!😂
Ha Ha thanks - might not be able to keep up this level of productivity 😂
