No graduated rough makes this course impossible. when you miss the fairway by 2 inches or miss by 50 yards and the result is the same, that is a big problem. As much as I love watching this guys get their skulls bashed in, it was not possible to string together high-quality golf shots because a brick wouldnt hold on this green. Shots bouncing 20 feet past the flag with short irons and wedges. very luck based finish for scheffler (he was due for a lucky one) but guys just couldnt seperate themselves down the stretch
Great to see the PGA make the course an actual challenge for the pros. 5 to 6 under is about right winning these events. Not the usual 34 under par the 'Ba Ba Boey' shouting halfwits like to watch. Made it much more exciting to watch, especially down the stretch
Im having my 1st round of the year tomorrow and even though im not too good but can get round ok,watch8ng the best in the world do the same kinda sh*t i do makes me feel great 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's only after 10,000 hours of practice you really appreciate the difference between how they chunk into the water vs. everyone else chunking into the water though.
Watching these Golf is Hard videos made me realize, if you take this whole video as one game of golf, that would be a video log of one of my average games.

The past two weeks the courses have been hard but I love it as a golf fan. If you can’t drive it well or hit the greens in regulation then you shouldn’t win
There's your answer to the distance problem. Just make the course more difficult. I'm not Impressed with -20 scores from pros. I'm more impressed with them confronting a challenge and rising to the occasion. This tourney was great to see. Creativity, grind, grit...that's what every tourney should require from these guys
Whats the use of being accurate when your shot can land 50 feet short with a wedge and roll off the other side. Not a great look for the course or the event at all.
This is way better than watching everyone go under par through 4 days and the winning score is somewhere near -30. That’s ridiculous. This is heaps more interesting to watch because it’s mentally taxing on the players and they really have to play their best to win.
It appeared a lot of those bad shots were signs of frustration, the players looked beaten up and just wanted to get off the course. But some of those approach shot looked really good and the results just didn't fit the quality of the shot. Not to take anything away from Scottie's win but when a course becomes a guessing game then luck plays heavily into the results.

Exactly why you don't need equipment change. Grow the rough, slope the greens, shorten the courses, plant some trees and a few well placed water hazards and now it becomes a game of skill again.
Agreed, I’m kind of tired of hearing people say the equipment is too good now or that pros hit it too far. This week proved that they can still make a golf course extremely difficult and make guys hit perfect shots if they want to score
That's why the americans find it tougher to win in Europe, watching golf like this makes me feel quiet normal as an amateur hacker,it can happen to the best.
I watched this and it became a joke as the day progressed. Round 3 was virtually impossible to play and it came down to LUCK where your ball bounced. IT had nothing to do with picking a spot to land it was shear luck. If this is how golf is going count me out. I hope millions of others feel the same. PGA 311 I know?
