10/10 for that last button on your shirt. It's going above and beyond to hold it all together, worthy performance for a final.
Hahaha! I came here for that! 😂
😂
😂😂😂😅
😂😂😂
😂
If the game went to penalties and Rice took one, he'd have passed it back to Pickford.
hehe
Goalkeepers when their team are taking penalties have to go off down the goal line they’re not anywhere near their team mates.
Do you not do sarcasm?
of course he would rice make a foreward pass you must be joking
A 2 for Southgate is extremely generous. A minus would have sufficed. The boring, pragmatic, uninspiring football they play is totally down to Southgate. His post-match interview is frightening. If he saw in-game issues, deal with them. Solve them. Don't point them out afterwards. Incompetence personified.
Correct
Why do people keep misunderstanding the word 'pragmatic'? Pragmatism is a positive trait, and it shouldn't be used pejoratively. A pragmatic person identifies creative solutions to solve problems. Southgate did none of that, he refused to change an ineffective left flank and forward line all tournament. Southgate's unwavering commitment to ideas that weren't working was 'dogmatic'.

A 5 for Foden? Guy was invisible all tournament.
@@youngmonaco2039 he stunk out the tournament, he had one decent half against Holland.
Was about the game

Foden getting better protection than trump
Too many of our players totally overrated. We will never win anything until we train our young players to pass and move and receive the ball like the Spaniards do. Unfortunately I think Spain will dominate for years now.
It's the sheer arrogance to think that Cucurella is a deadbeat that Saka should be dominating
Palmer has been great when he has come on thats not his fault but come on Saka kept us in the competion out of the players that played 90mins. He was By far the best player over the last 2 weeks
@@dawnsparks9207 had two half decent halfs in seven games. Wow. By far the best player. Someone prepare the Balon D'Or ceremony for him.
I think cucurella gets a lot of stick because of his personal appearance
The 'Chelsea curse', Potter and Cucurella were both excellent at Brighton....
Cucerella has been average prior to the tournament though. It’s not an unreasonable assessment. If England were actually coached, they win the game.
A 1/10 seems generous...
If you are looking to win Kane shouldn't be picked. People don't take the curse seriously.
If you are looking to get to final, semi final then pick Kane. But the guy has not won a single team title for for nearly 24 years!
I don't know his youth record but its propbably a lot of runners up.
I think was embarrassing all tournament absolutely shocking 🙄
Someone should teach him how to jump in an England shirt
Kane ghosted the entire tournament . Didn’t pass well, didn’t shoot well, made no runs into the box, positioning was awful, didn’t hold up the ball at all. The team played so much better whenever he was taken off
Bayern must surely be thinking they made a mistake.
Yet he still got 3 goals - Foden got no goals and no assists.

There are two elephants in the room. The main one is Southgate. Hopeless manager with no ideas. The second one is Kane. He was unfit and should not have played. Was just a passenger. But time after time Southgate plays Kane in every game.
Southgate 0/10 worst manager on the planet
better than Rooney, but that not saying much!
Check out his record compared to previous England managers and then give your head a wobble!

Really? Worse than Hodgson and McLaren?
Silly talk.
The facts are that, as with euro 2020/21, England had an easy road to the final. England also had an east path to the World Cup final in 2018. England had a tough game in the 2022 quarter final against france and went home early.
Agreed
Have we ever beaten a team that’s either ranked just below or above us? If so I can’t remember it. As you’ve said we’ve been gifted these finals.
@@joshuamatheron1 That we have. It's been kinda catching. Next time we'll be in the group of death with East Timor, Panama canal-remember them?- , South Falklands, and Sudan. If we make it past the group stage against these mighty Titans it will be Vatican Swiss guards in the semi's
Southgate ZERO out of ten.
1 is generous. 13 touches. Ambled around. no mobilility. we may as well have had 10 men for 60 minutes.
It’s the Southgate’s system that’s not right all it does is exhaust the players.he had a good squad and didn’t utilise it properly.
Kane wasn’t fit and shouldn’t have started, he held the team back in my opinion. Bellingham was a big let down as was Foden. Overall England underwhelmed and deserved to lose.
Southgate at fault. Should have rotated players and been brave. With that squad we should have been a threat every game. He kept all the players on a leash.
I give Durham shirt a 10 for holding till the end. Valliant effort
Bellingham shouldn't even be in top 15 Ballon d'Or podium.. Absolute disgrace that Ballon d'Or has now been rendered to piss poor players .. Football is dead if this clunky players even makes it into top 15
He's going to win it. Mpabbe had zero impact in this tournament. Vini was useless in Copa, while Jude had his moment and did what the coach had him to do: play from the wing to accommodate deadwood, Foden.

Very generous giving Harry Kane a ONE he did absolutely NOTHING !!!
I wouldn’t say Kane did nothing. He opened up space for the Spanish attack by allowing them to effectively play against 9 outfield players instead of 10. Him and Rice contributing enough to the Spanish team to atleast kiss the trophy
Watkins 2 touches in 34 mins & wasted 50 secs of the 4 mins of added on time kicking the Spaniard in the chest .

They were dreadful the whole tournament.Kane was invisible.
Dont agree that sake should of took on cucorella more. Even if he did, theres no one in box to cross to
Facts he held on the ball went sideways and backwards
SouthGOAT is better than Guardiola, Fergie, and Ancelotti. His experimental tactics of having the ball in the final third and then passing it all the way back to the keeper is so revolutionary. No other manager is doing these tactics right now. Making world class players play like Stoke, nobody would have thought of doing that. 🏆
In one of the games (can't remember which because they were all so tedious) we played a quick short corner and whilst everyone was waiting in the box for a cross....it ended up within a couple of passes being kicked back to Pickford. I can't think of any other team in the tournament being that negative.
BACK SOUTHGATE. HE WILL TAKE US TO THE PROMISED LAND
@@nevermore300 yea just give it to rice he always kicks it back to pickford
Harry Kane didn’t even touch the ball in the final
Saka didn't get the ball enough. The whole first half was atrocious. Defending for 45 minutes. Trying to counter with no speed up top.
Should have took Rashford & played him upfront. His pace scares defenders. Kane was virtually non existent the whole tournament!

Exactly. It would be interesting what would happen if Southgate got the Spain job.
Kane showed his true colours in this tournament. He was clearly not fit and as a leader he should have ruled himself out as Southgate as can be seen did not have the balls to drop Kane. Unfortunately I think he made this tournament all about himself as this was the last chance saloon for him to win any silverware in his career.
He has previous dont forget - stunk out the Champions League final with one of the worst performances by a player in the final, played injured.

Kane is not leadership material. Look back at the likes of Adams, Robson, etc in tha past: Players with backbone that galvanise a team and lead by example.
Clearly not a leader. Dunk would have been a leader, but not used at all by Southgoat
Kane is as much use as a comb to a bald man
How has harry kane got a 1 when he wasnt even at the tournament.
pickford 6 - Walker 5 - Stones 5 - Guehe 5 - Shaw 5 - Rice 4 - Kobee 4 - Foden 1 - Saka 6 - Bellingham 5 - Kane 1 - Watkins 4 - Palmer 7
Southgate - 1
After we scored, southgate should have taken off foden for gallagher, who was abysmal from minute 1 and has been the whole tournament.
Walker was tiring and shaw has barely played, could have also taken off either and put tripier or gordon on for either.
No one played a ball over the top succesfully, no one made runs beyond the opposition defence, that is where a rashford would have done us good.
Even when Spain made a mistake and gave the ball away we gave it straight back to them . Kane had chances to pressure the goal keeper on back passes but just strolled around. he had hardly any movement at all. Stones made a great run but instead of peeling off to give him options to pass he stayed rooted to the spot. I am a massive Kane fan but he was dreadful and clearly out of sorts. Walker made a couple of blistering runs to support Saka, but Saka did his usual cut inside to a wall of red. So many superstars for club were below par. If Kane was injured then he should take a long look at himself. So should Southgate. Kane was not fit for the CL final some years back . he missed three games before the final with an ankle injury I think . but insisted on playing and performed badly. Spain would have given anyone a torrid time last night but we just could not keep the ball.
Phil Foden
Played 7
Goals 0
Assists 0
He should never start another England game again. Palmer has to start ahead of him
He was bad, but I think that's a little unfair. Hardly anyone got any goals or assists in this tournament due to our shitty football. That's not all Foden's fault.
Same story.... Best players worst manager the only reason we got to the final is coz of individual skill not the team.
Easiest Group. Nice knockout Draws. Dodgy Referring helping our cause.

The curse of Kane continues.
This is the point! FC Bayern hasn't had a trophyless season in 12 years! 12 years now they don't even manage to win a supercup or a league cup because Kane is there. Finishing second with the curse is like the best you can hope for.
It’s not a curse though. Kane is part of the reason why his teams fail to win. I compare him to old Ronaldo, he always produces the goal scoring stats but I believe this is at the cost of the overall team performance.
How much did England win before kane?

No
He let lamal cut inside and find nico
Not fast enough for me if he is to played as a wing back. Can't cross the ball
The moment Harry Kane was named on the England starting line up was the moment they handed Spain the Euro 2024
Pickford was beaten by a shot that was very close to him, he didn't dive, it was nowhere near the corner. The

5 for Shaw? He was our best player
Shaw was our best player
Thing about Rice is it’s not like he had many options to pass forward as Bellingham, Foden and Kane played too deep. Saka was a lot of the time in own half as well. It’s not his main strength either to be fair. He’s great at splitting the lines through movement rather than passing. And he was deployed as DM in an incredibly defensive team so obvious he wasn’t going to be able to show these strengths.
I remembered Arsenal and England fans tried to say Rice is on the same level as Rodri. The English hype machine.
I am a Liverpool fan but that is one of the worst comparisons

2 is being very kind to Kyle Walker, it's very clear that Ben White is England's best RB
Declared himself unavailable for England though allegedly as he refused to sit on the bench. Not the sort of character we want in the squad unfortunately if he's going to take that approach. Particularly when at that time he hadn't had the seasons he's had recently.
@jamieh4357 it was this year...
Instead of the country looking to the football team to give us a lift, perhaps it’s the other way around. The Spanish and others have a swagger and a confidence that is currently bred out of us - how does that produce champions.
Must be fair, an honest assessment….. WHY TAA was not on the pitch considering England played a back three is beyond me…..
In attacking positions Saka is too predictable and slows the play down too much; in numerous attacking situations when he was on the ball, the situation just needed to execute a pass quickly into available space, but he hogs the ball too long and let Spain get into position. He’s a poor man’s Arjen Robben, minus the devastating impact.
There was no support. Walker was poor and Kane goes AWOL
And this is why he's on the radio and not in the game with silly comments about the players
Specsavers have an offer on at the moment m8. It might be worth checking it out.
Solid Honest Players ratings
Congratulations on making the finals lads
I thought philip seymour hoffman died?? Who’s this guy then…..
Kyle Walker is probably the most indispensable player in the whole squad. The whole back line relies on his acceleration to not understand that its not his fault during the goals rather he is running out of position and covering for the other's just speaks to that this guy watches highlights rather than the whole game.
@@onetwo8847 He is one of the fastest players of the whole tournament. By far the fastest Defender. Allows Southgate to get away with Maguire in the past. The fault is the coaches as he is tasked with not only just stopping his man but the whole team. Why do you think Nico Williams went and overloaded Shaw together with Yamal its because trying to beat Walker for pace was fruitless.
@@onetwo8847 Anyone with coaching badges and who has actually seen them play live on the stadium can see how much his pace helps the backline
@@TantricBioHacker This is the single most delusional comment I have seen in this entire comment section...
Kyle Walker was at fault for BOTH goals. In the first, Stones turns to face the man who walker was covering for (as his own man had run offside) and Walker doesn't recognize this, and stays with him to, seeming to not be aware of Williams' position. The second one was quite literally a situation in which he didn't use his "acceleration" and failed to cut out a ball that he easily shouldv'e got to if he had reacted when he should have. He was slowly jogging initially rather than getting back into position when everyone watching the game could see that the ball to Cucurella was going to be on from a mile away, and even then the pass to him was under hit slightly... should NEVER have got to him
Almost immediately after they scored the first goal, they nearly scored again when Walker for a second time in 2 minutes seemed to not be aware of Williams' position.
He also had a terrible tournament overall in general. He was getting torn apart down our right side for most of the first half against Slovakia of all teams... And the problem with that is, he HAS to be good defensively for us because going forward he is absolutely useless. At best, he will get into an overlap position once or MAYBE twice a game, but his final ball delivery has always been useless.
.He's also been at fault for crucial goals in the past, like the Croatia equalizer in 2018.
If you'd just said he is underappreciated, that would be one thing,
But to say he is the most indispensable player in the whole squad... and claim people who don't agree only "watch highlights"...
That is almost a disqualifying statement in itself for anyone tryna take your opinions seriously lol
@@TantricBioHacker the fastest defender... and yet STILL failed to cut out a slighly under hit ball to Cucurella that he shouldve been in position to cut out, and was OBVIOUS that ball was going to be played and failed to recognize it. His pace also has nothing to do with the fact that he didn't seem to be aware of where Williams was on multiple occasions. He always has concentration lapses. And he didn't recognise when stones had turned to face his man for the first goal, and that he was supposed to be getting back into position to cover the back post quicker. Walker had an AWFUL tournament, not only was he easily not the most indefinable player...
we genuinely mightve had a better chance at winning if wed played a different player at RCB. Both in terms of defensive awareness and in terms of productivity with the ball
@@onetwo8847 As a Right back he is obviously not going to track Williams to the other wing that wouldn't even be done in a man to man system.
He is slotting in for the Central Defenders. Given Pickford, and the two centre backs they would of been exposed so many times and wouldn't of scraped through as Walker has slotted in numerous occasions. Goal probability from an attacking player scoring centrally vs Spains left back scoring from a bad angle is obvious so he choose to cover the larger of two threats and didn't make it back to the lesser one in time.

Foden 4 lool, the guy was anonymous tonight. Didn’t do a single thing
Kyle walker could be blamed for the goals, but if you study the moves, he was forced into 2v1 scenarios by very clever movement from the spanish side in the build up. They created an overload on their right, which caused all the england marker to move up one player, and Saka didn't pick up Kukurella's run. The players shouldn't be blamed for this loss. The system was a total failure and the combination with Kane just didn't work. He was not fit, but the players behind him require a more mobile front man to open the defence with runs. Kane's lack of movement meant that there was not space or opportunity. Kane works with running wings like Rashford, Sane, Musiala or even a running partner like Son. When noone moves, noone moves.
Let me just say one thing being a Spurs fan. Never relay on H for the big occasions. He went missing on many occasion for us.

Kane, Foden, Walker - ALL SHOCKING. Trippier was better this tournament than Walker both other strikers better than Kane (great pen against the Dutch) Foden was very very very useless Pep should’ve shipped him and kept Palmer
My take on it, when you consider we were in an easy qualifying group, then in the easiest group stage AND then in the safe half of the knock out draw playing garbage un-entertaining football only to meet the first decent team and getting beat!!!
SHAMBOLIC why dose it keep happening like ground hog day?:-
1.Because the FA insist on playing 345 games at Wembley (to pay for the stadium)against vastly inferior teams we get a false ranking.
2. The false ranking puts us in a weak qualifying group, win all the games, score hundreds of goals and think we are the bees knees and favorites.
3. We are then seeded at tournaments based on number of travelling fans who boost income for UEFA/FIFA and end up in a relatively easy group so the fans will be there longer spending copious amounts of Ero's = easy half of the draw
4.Eventually we have to play and beat a good team = defeat
5. Managers Squad selection is based on players performances over a 38 game season when their quality /suitability should be judged on how well they play in club games v the top 6
why? because they those teams normally full of foreign international players not run of the mill defenders and forwards. These are the players they will come up against at international competitions not some full back/centre half/midfielder of a potential mid to lower EPL side.
Walker
Rice
Trent
Foden

Were all a disapointment. Big question is why so many big names underachieved like this
Made a welcome change to hear Adrian do a show without saying Talksport in every sentence, like he does on radio. Agree with most what he said though. Just lesson the Talksport word a bit next season please.
You have to give it to Kane though, his foot was hanging off and he still kept playing. I put him up there with Bert Trautmann.
Pretty fair assesment, though I'd have marked Pickford lower for his seriously bad distribution, maybe 4 for Foden, and 0 for Southgate.
No penetration , not got to byeline , nothing over the top ! No service from the midfield .
Is Kyle Walker still getting away with it?
There was no point Saka trying to take his man as he was double teamed. Williams always tracked back. So the question was less about Saka not having a go and more about where the heck was Walker!?
Time for a new manager . Garth can make the tea and gives hugs but stay any from the tactics board
Did Saka do enough to help walker... even tho both goals came from his side and one cross from his fullback
why on earth did palmer only play 60 mins the whole tournament that as just pure incompetence to not realise he was making a difference. I think we could have nicked it if he had started yesterday despite southgates terrible play the attacking threat could have seen us through
We needed a captain on the pitch to lead by example. Southgate and Kane to blame for the poor performances for the the tournament!!
Southgate has to take full responsibility - players out of position, afraid to drop big name players, too late on tactical substitutions but above all lost the players in believing they were playing in the right system which left the big name players off the hook a little!! Good riddance
Fitness not mentioned so far, Spain much fitter than England, Kane just jogged about all tournament whilst Spain were like terriers from start to finish bit like Italy when we lost to them
Can't argue with any of that, spot on.
a 6 for Stones? I felt he was too blame for the poor defensive show in the 2nd half. walker had to follow him for the first goal so it pulled him out of position for williams to score, then he played the guy on site for the 2nd.
