Takoyaki Octopus Balls / Complete Recipe : Octopus Cooking, Batter, Takoyaki Sauce, Tenkasu Flakes

- I’m going to show you how to make the number 1 Japanese street food “takoyakis”. These are grilled, golden balls containing octopus.
👩🍳 Ingredients for 32 takoyaki:
Batter:
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ cup rice flour
½ tsp baking powder
1 egg
3 cups water
1 tbsp dashi powder
¼ tsp salt
½ tbsp light soy sauce
Fillings:
½ lb octopus
1 tbsp pickle ginger
2 spring onion
Aonori, nori seaweed flakes (optional)
Katsuobushi, bonito flakes (optional)
For the tenkasu flakes:
5 tbsp all-purpose flour
5 tbsp water
A pinch of salt
Takoyaki sauce:
1 tsp dashi powder
½ tbsp light soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbsp barbecue sauce
1 tsp sugar

Did you use Japanese, or American, barbeque sauce?
To make this recipe, I use American BBQ sauce.
