Mark Slaughter was asked about the origins of the Slaughter song “Fly To The Angels” to which he stated: “That song was written about a girlfriend who I went to high school with. I remember I came back from touring and couldn’t get a hold of her. So I asked a friend and he told me he hadn’t seen her. The next thing I know, he calls me back with the news that she had passed away and the funeral was the next day. It was one of those surreal moments. I went to her funeral and it inspired me to write a song about letting go. There’s a real sense of composure in going through those life events that I’m always very conscious of in my music. Seeing what it does for other people is why I continue to write.”

Saw Slaughter and Jackyl at Ky. State Fair free concert in 2010. Mark Slaughter while singing this song came down off the stage and up into the stands. Walked down our row shaking hands and hugging everyone. Great time and awesome concert! You should check out Jackyl also. Try their songs:

This is one of the best power ballads from the 80s, it's especially great. His vocals, the instrumentation & yes, it's very genuinely heartfelt from real experience, which makes all the difference. I like it also bc it's not too sappy, it's got enough rock in it to keep it from being cheesy and boring. Great reaction, Shon!

Mark Slaughter also does voice work. He did it for Warner Brothers years ago. I haven't kept current with him, but I know he still performs. I'm not sure what else he's been up to...
But I think it's cool he had other things he did artistically. Nobody should assume they don't need a back up plan, or at least be trying other things. We only live once! Do things you're curious about, or interested in while you have the ability and opportunity 😊

from the album "Eternal Live", which is actually a live concert, you can choose any song, they're all sooo good, my personal recommendation: "Mad About You", "Get used to It", "Searching", "Real Love", "Dance for Me" hahaha I know they're many but I'm telling you those are best of the best, I put what I consider the best first, as for "Up All Night (Sleep On Day)" (which is the one you guessed correctly it was another song in the beginning of the video with the girls singing) is better to hear the studio version. Thanks for being open to suggestions.

I like this song a lot recently I had my mother and father and I within a year apart before them my soulmate before her my grandfather and then when I was really young my brother was murdered so kind of reminds me of them

There doesn't seem to be a real original video of this because it's pretty old (late 80s). They were close to A Tribe Called Quest (a couple of them went to high school together).
