Catholic Charities embrace all and dedicate their funds to street people who are addicts, all over America. They’ve been doing this for many, many years.
So the tents wasn't working so they move them away just to bring them back up the street from where they first were? The guy threatening people with the machete makes people afraid. Especially when you call the cops and they say they can't do anything. Need a location away from homes, schools, and businesses. With a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program and a mental health program for those who needs it.
"2 workers, assaulted by those associated with a homeless encampment hosted by the county" in da July news 😟 2:36 'Ae, "a lot of people have been afraid".
While yes this is a great thing, it just feels like election pandering from Roth. Why didn't he address this problem when he took office instead of wait for an election year? Vote Alameda
Exactly they only doing it now because election is coming up What’s going to happen after They only telling us what we want to hear after the election nothing is done It’s been long years the traffic is so bad by the main highway coming from Puna and Mountain View side So congested most especially on school days Help the taxpayers not the people that don’t contribute at All
Mitch How about the meth head chop shop in HPP you said a pray at? It didn't help. Squatters who steal on their way out. "Just cause you're homeless doesn't mean you're a criminal." Like the guy they pulled out of the squatters/chopshop lot. Meth, Heroin, ex-felon with weapons and ammo. Words and reality are polar opposites.
Drug and alcohol counseling would help tremendous!! I hope it works out safely 🙏 for everyone
Thank you. You always are looking out for all of us.😊
What a great program you have put into action.
BLESSINGS to all of you.
I like the last minute plans all of a sudden before the elections😂😂😂 I still voting for Kimo🤙🤙
Great work, Thank you.
I hope the homeless spend the time reflecting on their future from the time gained not having to worry about food/shelter.
What a loving group of people! Thank you so much!
Awesome job!

Treatment centers for alcoholics/addicts are sorely lacking.
Best wishes to all involved
Very hopeful for our community!
This could be an inspiration for other places with the same problem. Good work and God Bless.
Wow! Aloha in action. Wishing for much success for this program.
❤
if you understood street life you would know all you have done is create a place for the worst of them to prey on the innocent
How beautiful! I hope other cities could see, being humane is all it takes.

Stats from 2023 show the Big Island of Hawaii with 1,003 homeless. What has been done in the past to remedy this?
