Wow wonderful! Nowadays, the trend is this...the more complicated kit, the more fun it is to build it. I don't agree. You can get as much fun from a simple kit as well. Great work! I truly enjoyed your build! 😀😀
I often enjoy basic kits more, as there is less hassle, fewer parts to lose and less fine detail to snap as you cut them off the sprue.. But each version has it's own advantages and disadvantages.. :)
I often see this kit while shopping online and thought it must be terrible given the low price. It looks like it can be build into a solid model though. Hats off Rob 👏
Thank you.. With a bit of effort and time, no doubt it can be turned into something more resembling a MiG-21 than what I achieved, but as this was a last minute decision to build for the group build, I just basically put the pieces together and hoped for the best. I am tempted to get the other boxing of this kit and maybe put a bit more effort into it.. :) The kit is definitely workable, although the front landing gear is very weak. If I build another one, that part will be amongst the last ones added.. :)
Hi Rob nice job there mate I built a mig 21 1.72 scale buy a company called akkura it looks more or less the same moulding and it comes with a added bonus of there being 2 x aircraft I did one. In USSR markings and one in East german markings am looking forward to seeing your next video all the best and happy modeling everyone 👍😁
You did a great job on this classic and iconic Soviet fighter! As a modeler for more than half a century, I've built my share of Cold War subjects, but these were mostly of US / UK / NATO aircraft , since kits of Soviet / Warsaw Pact subjects were limited in the pre Internet, pre eBay age. (I remember the excitement when Hasegawa brought out their MiG-25 Foxbat kit in 1976 after the pilot defected to Japan.) When local hobby shops managed to get KP kits from Czechoslovakia in the early 1980's, it was a gamechanger. 18th Like.
Thank you... :) My Cold War aircraft collection is mainly Swedish jets.. ;) and also the Warsaw Pact, as both the Poles and the East Germans kept us very busy when I served in the Swedish Air Force. I guess that's why my main interest lies with those two nations.. Luckily these days there are many excellent brands from the former Soviet nations that turn out kits of excellent quality and detail. Things have indeed moved on since we both started this hobby.. :)
Very nice looking despite all. I believed that the ZTS brand existed no more, and in fact I would say that time seems not to have gone by that brand, because the manufacturing looks typical of the 1960s and 70s, even if the box art looks quite recent. I have two (1/72nd) ZTS kits to build (Il-2 Sturmovick and Pal-37), and with that simplistic design and raised panel lines they show their age for sure, just like your Fished.
Simple and effective, both the MiG-21 and the model :) You did a good job on replicating this legendary aircraft. I actually like the white MF versions of the East German airforce quite a bit somehow.
I agree about the East German aircraft, in general.. Have always had a keen interest in the former East German Air Force, after my time in the Swedish one.. 😁
You are very welcome.... :) From what I have heard and also noticed myself, this kit is very similar, if not identical to the KoPro kit.. I think the KoPro kit has raised panel lines, whereas this kit has recessed panel lines. The plastic is also softer, not as hard and brittle as the KoPro kit.. Either way, for a reasonably cheap kit, it wasn't too bad to build and it is another MiG in my collection.. :)
Thank you.. It is a a colour recommended to me by that modelling fellow from north Wales, can't recall the brand or shade right now but I will get back to you on that one..
Приветствую, Роб ! Что-то с покраской у этой модели не так , не пошло ! Позвольте дать совет - после высыхания натирайте фланелью модель ! Это придаст блеск натуральный и уберёт шагрень самой краски на модели ☝️

Another excellent, neat out of box build Rob. Well done.
Thank you very much, you are most kind as always.. :)
Good job for the build and a good music in background. Congratulations 👍👍👍
Thank you very much.. it was only ever intended to be a very quick build.. :)
Greetings from Poland! I did my own in 2000. Great work!

Yes check it out it was quite cheap as well 👍
Quick and despite great, Rob. Convincing result of this MiG-21 out of the box.
A build, which has brought fun. Best wishes, Joachim
Thank you, Joachim.. :) :) It was not meant to be a serious build, but I am happy with the end result, as always.. :)
👍
Supreme glory to the masters of the workbench !!!
Well, no masters of the workbench here, I had to carry on without them.. ;)
That's a classic kit! I've build four of them so far!
Thank you. I will definitely build a second one at some point.. 😊

Well, old style kits are good fun for little money.. 😂 I will probably buy one more of these and make a bit better job of it.. 😁

A credible job on a poor kit.
