  • James Bond: From Russia with Love
By Ian Fleming - Performed by Ian Ogilvy
From Russia with Love was published in 1957*, five years before the film, starring Sean Connery as Bond and Daniela Bianchi as Russian agent Tatiana, premiered.
The Russian (Soviet Union) government’s murder organization called SMERSH has decided to kill Bond and show the world’s intelligence community who’s boss. (Good thing that countries don’t send out agents to kill people in foreign lands anymore e_e.) Get ready for an adventure with the world’s favorite spy, 007 James Bond. Then watch the movie and compare the two. The 00 number means that he’s licensed to kill when necessary. Can Bond outwit and survive the agents of SMERSH? There’s one way to find out! Enjoy.
GBOT Review: Story - Very Good. Reading Performance - Very Good. I enjoyed the extra backstory of the SMERSH agents. Mr. Ogilvy not only began to sound like one of the James Bonds but many of the voices he created were spot on.
Ian Fleming (1908-1964) was a British writer who used his experience working for British Naval Intelligence to help create his James Bond stories. He also wrote the children’s book Chitty Chitty Bang Bang which was made into an overly long film starring Dick Van Dyke of Mary Poppins fame.
Ian Ogilvy (1943 - ) is a British actor with 78 television and 22 movie performances since 1964. He’s appeared in episodes of; Murder She Wrote, Baywatch, Dharma & Greg, Babylon 5, Jag, Tom Dick and Harriet, Upstairs Downstairs, and is in a movie coming out this year called Renegade.

Shame it's not the complete novel, just one of those Reader's Digest abridged versions, as Ian "The Return of the Saint" Ogilvy is one of the better narrators around.

    Bond.
    Connery.
    There is only one Bond.
I read all the Bond books once and got half way through them again. RWLove is one of the better ones, some argue the best.
