This is not a bad process or wrong just a different way. You can use a vacuum pump or the like and that's ok. With his approach you only need to pay attention to the hose connected to the bleed valve and watch for leaks and what the fluid is doing in the hose when you pump the brake. Watch for bubbles coming out as well as what the fluid does with regards to sucking air back in. You can use a a fitting that's a check valve in the hose. If you use a shorter hose with one end in a catch jar with some fluid in it that helps.
You don't really need to plus that requires a helper to either pump or open and close the bleed valve. If you use a helper pick someone you can communicate with lol..
Dirty fluid!! It was way over due!!! So much simpler too have a long enough hose to suck it threw the line and keep filling it full!! watch my videos I just posted up on here common sense simple

I thought you needed to pump the brake, hold it and then crack open the bleeder?
Yeah, ditto. That's what I was always told. Do your HOMEWORK

the Era brake used dot. 5 brake ,please do not mix with dot 4
05 and later for touring, double checked it with my workshop manual but thanks for the concern
Just change it all to Motul 600 degree racing fluid. Hot Summers in Texas boils that Dot 4 like crazy - IE = NO BRAKES
if you closely at the lid of the brake res in the video it said dot 4 on it. always follow whats on the lid.
He's doing it wrong
