  • How To Bleed The Brakes On A Harley Davison Street Glide. Harley recommends bleeding your brakes every two years. When you change your brake pads it's a good time to do it, but if you don't ride a lot of miles every year then you'll need to bleed your brakes much sooner. In this video I give my step by step instructions on how I bleed the brakes and what tools I use. #bleedbrakes

    Even though I have bled my own brakes since I was a kid, I watched for support brother. Good job.

    I’m after Ozarks. Pull the fluid out of the master cylinder first. And refill. Don’t worry you won’t get any air

    Thanks for the video... I have a question I'm redoing the radii at the same time. And before bleeding the brake lines can I turn on the accessory ignition for the radio work without messing up the ABS module??

    • @SinisterClutch
      @SinisterClutch  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question! To be honest I’m not 100% sure. But if you got the master cylinder cover off and you do any movement with the radio I could see brake fluid being splattered. Bleeding the brakes is a job I always do by itself. I couldn’t find anything in the service manual about it either

    I have a 15 Street Glide Special as well. Bought it used (29k miles) from the HD shop and its been back more than its been under my butt! Fromt brakes are dragging. Not all the time, it comes in cycles like every 10 min. Have to hit the front brakes kinda hard to get them to release. They have changed the ABS module, supposedly the calipers etc. Still having the same issue. Any suggestions??

    • @SinisterClutch
      @SinisterClutch  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You could have an issue with your brake calipers but like you said they supposedly changed them. If the brake fluid was not properly changed over the years that can affect the whole brake system from master cylinder, brake lines, and to the calipers. There are multiple variables as to what the issue could be. For example if your brake lines are clogged that could cause this issue as well.

    • @SinisterClutch

      Your bike has ABS right? If so, there could be air introduced. Could be an issue with the master cylinder or brake caliper. Are the pads dragging against the rotor? Jack it up and spin the front wheel

    Hey Randy, I went ahead and flushed front and rear, no problem. However, my ABS doesn't stop flashing now. It used to stop a few minutes after startup. Any idea? 2014 SGS

    • @SinisterClutch
      @SinisterClutch  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Are you sure you didn’t introduce air in the brake lines? Check for Diagnostic Codes

    • @jbucks166
      @jbucks166 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SinisterClutch I certainly didn't think I did but I will check for codes as soon as I get back there. Thanks for the quick reply. If no codes any other ideas? If code for air is found, is this a definite trip to dealer?

    • @SinisterClutch
      @SinisterClutch  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jbucks166 Yes definitely a trip to the dealership. They will hook it up to a computer to flush the air out. I’m guessing there will be a code. Just look it up for info. Happy to help🤙. Let me know if you have more questions.

      @@jbucks166 Have you rode the bike since bleeding the brakes? Basically to test the brakes. You could also pull the main fuse. I’m wondering if the ABS is trying to sync.
