Being the smaller sister of the great Magnificat a 7 voci of the Marian Vesper, it seems to have been created first serving afterwards as the fundament for the big version. The setting of the smaller one feels somewhat more harmonic in general, more "on purpose" from the beginning to the end and is more homogeneus in its style. It´s a really interesting excercise to compare both, I love both!
