It was 30 when I played. I was far too poor to afford one. My friends sister had a dragon longsword and I thought she was a God. She 1m in the bank, and I thought I was rich with 10k.

I'll never forget my first whip... Went to a drop party just outside of Falador, everything got dropped apart from the whip. After everyone had calmed down, the host ran around and announced that he had dropped the whip. As soon as it appeared I managed to get an insanely fast click on it and I heard the infamous RS sound for when you pick something up, I clicked on my inventory and sitting in it was a whip. To this day I still don't know how I got that whip because my mouse was on the opposite side of the screen to where the whip was, and I wasn't standing that close to it either. Incredible luck I guess. Awesome video Brandon!!
That happened to me but at the grand exchange. It was literally the very first item that i had that ever costed like over a million. I still remember the exact feeling.
Hehe, that Silverlight I was holding? Yeah that's actually Darklight. I just re-edited the colors to look like Silverlight again, because once you have Darklight, you can never regain Silverlight. ;_; Ever.

Ram Xid To be honest, I'm so scared of PKing. ;_; And I'm definitely a noob at PvMing.. I just don't know if anybody would ever wanna watch me do it. :p That's why I haven't done it yet like B0aty's series or Mammal's. They're absolute beasts. I don't think I could measure up haha. everyone had one; they were cheap, strong af, and had an amazing spec. Any pure had a dds in the inventory

You are amazing, you bring up so many iconic things and memories i have of when i was a kid. As you said in your timeline runescape has affected many and i loved it but when rs3 came out i stopped and i did not realize osrs came out and i am so grateful that you made me find my way back into nostalgia! keep up the good videos, they are wonderful.

Daan Vreeburg they are polling resizeable mode on thursday but for now osbuddy is your best bet

Dragon Dagger Poisoned (DDP++)? Santa Hats? Torso and Berserker Helmet? Rune 2H? God Swords? Zamorak, Guthix, Saradomin armor? You left out a shit ton of stuff.
Exactly what I thought. The DDS should have easily made it into this list, it was more iconic than the whip in my opinion. Everyone who had reached level 60 attack had the dragon dagger super poison in their banks, and if they were fighting, regardless of what primary weapons they were using you could bet that 95% of the time they had a DDS in their inventory ready to spam the special attack in the hopes of getting a row of double high damage hits.
I wouldn't say he left things like the Rune 2H or the godswords out, the list as it is does have a lot of iconic items, but the DDS could in my opinion easily had number one or at least a top 3. Santa hats and berserker helmet were also very iconic as they displayed a level of understanding for the game or in the Santa hats case just pure wealth. Good list, needed the DDS though.
I want to be honest youre my new favorite youtuber thank you for being as good as you are! Nobody can quit Runescape. You always think about it because it is our childhood fantasy! It has everything! Thank you for being such a good youtuber!
Going through all these items gave me so many flashbacks from back when RS2 was the newest one. The removal of the wildy, more dragon items, ancient magic, the new hunting and slayer skill, carving canoes from lumbridge to varrock, Pyramid Plunder and Pest Control releases. Runescape will always hold a dear place in my heart because not only was it just so much fun to play it and see it grow, it taught me to speak and write English and it was kinda the "Skype" for me and my friends in those days to talk and play after school.

when I played RS:
-A dragon chain was worth 40 mil and people who beat the kalphite queen were considered legends
-A dragon long made you coolest kid in class
-Going to barrows trying to make some cash was considered high level pro shit
-Pking a rune scimmy was a very succesfull trip
-The KBD was a most serious clan challenge
-Wearing a dragon med on your full rune made you a boss
-castle wars was the most popular member thing there was
-the internet broke when player owned houses were introduced
-a saturday evening fishing lobs in the fishing guild guild while chatting with like minded souls was considered a well spent social weekend night
-nobody ever used ranging because a magic shortbow was pretty much the most hardcore ranging weapon there was. Wearing black dragonhide was to be respected tho
so much nostalgia..

d long and dds were the two items that motivated me to get membership back in 2006 as a kid, i saw them and i was so inspired
I think the Dragon Dagger P++ was more iconic than Dragon Longsword, because it was a really powerful weapon that was relatively cheap, meaning players who weren't as good were able to get it.

D scimmy was the most iconic weapon when I was f2p back in the day in my opinion. It was so bad ass. Great vid as always :)

Ancient magicks are totally awesome and legendary to me too :D! When I finally got em in the original RS2 I was SO happy, WHAT an accomplishment! Ice magicks rock.
I remember in the old days instead of silverlight i used to walk around with a blurite sword because it had the same stance as a scimy and a lot of people used to ask me what sword it was and were could you get one. I used to reply that it was from an op quest Knight's sword and you need lvl 50 att to wield it. I was such a noob back then :D
For me. One of my favorite items is the r2h. Before RS3 or 2. Back in classic. All weapons had the same attack speed. So a r2h was the same attack speed as say, a scimmy. I had one before members was released and felt like an absolute bad ass as I trained on hob gobs and ice warriors.
Then after members was released, or around the time it was, one of the Gower bros did a preview of the Dragon sword (like actually appeared in game and showed it off, I think it was purple back then and later changed to red when Lost City released) and revealed it was just as strong as a r2h but 1 handed. Blew our minds.

The DDS was iconic as well. I remember when I was brand new to the game and saw someone wielding one I had to ask them what the "green and red thing they were weilding was".
