Less stress now and proud to be a coin collector . Great video which is similar to my story . God bless you Daniel, say hello to your Dad for me.

Daniel, Ive been following uou since less than 5k subs. To me this is one of your best videos. I remember you sharing alot of personal stuff in your early channel days and I really enjoyed it. Great message here, Do What Makes You a Better Person! ❤
Wow, your story is similar to mine. I always collected coins in a moderate way. I became serious about it, during the Covi. I got a bit depressed because my mom, passed the way, and it was a hard time for me because we were in the lockdown period as well. So, getting into collecting coins, and hunting for errors, has saved my life in a way. I have not make money out of it yet. However, it doesn't matter. I have my coins, and it is an investment sitting there. I love my hobby. Thank you for your words of wisdom 🙏. You have a blessed and a super amazing day too.💚

Im retired and been doing it for years, I do it because I love the history behind coins and currency and its history I can actually handle and look at, it gives me great pleasure doing so I’m not looking to get rich I want to preserve the history of our countries currencies and pass it on to my children and grandchildren. Keep up the great work Daniel!!!
I collect for a lot of reasons. I’m a huge history buff. I LOVE medallic art and the role it plays in our national identity. Plus there’s a treasure hunting aspect to it as well. The list goes on…LoL
you hope to make some money, but you got to love to do it. the history & the hunt. Your grandfather sounds like a neat man. Thanks for the videos you do and your on-line coin listings. Great stuff.
I’ve fooled around with this hobby with varying degrees of intensity for over 54 years. At age 62 I still love doing this, but my focus is shifting. I want to be a part-time dealer in my retirement both for profit and for the opportunity to interact more with other dealers and collectors. As for my own personal collection, I am slowly liquidating a lot of more common stuff and trying to limit acquisitions to nicer, certified coins with decent liquidity. I expect to own numismatic material until I pass away someday. Life would be less enjoyable without some of this stuff sitting around my place.
I go to estate sales every once in awhile. Just when you think you have a wallet full of cash,.the coin collections there are still out of my reach. I get lucky once in awhile finding random silver items. I don’t go online enough,.thats likely the problem. Having a network or website would be beneficial indeed.
To most people in the hobby I am still a greenhorn. I have tried to learn as much as I can. The actual aha moment came to me as to why people sought out and paid good money for some of these came after I started paying attention looking for errors, low mintages, etc..
I started collecting coins years ago. I had no idea what I was doing at first. I bought way too many coins from the U.S. Mint. I started to collect, just to have a collection. I also bought them to flip coins. The last reason was in case the dollar goes crazy, I'd have some precious metals, to use to barter with or whatever. But I still buy too many U.S. Mint coins and need to stop! I've been buying a lot of generic silver rounds, in case the SHTF. Let's face it, if the dollar goes to hell in a handbasket and you need to use silver to buy things, no one will care if it's an Eagle or a generic round. All they'll care about is if it's an ounce of silver. They won't pay you more, just because it's an Eagle! I need to start collecting more older coins. Typically, they go up in value over the years. So I'm slowing down on buying Mint coins and focusing on older coins.
I collect for the history alone. Yes, I do have a few expensive (to me) coins. Now after 35+ years of collecting, I now try to make full date and mint sets only from change found in my pocket.
I've got a little crazy blowing money on coins but I love it! Especially mint sets and I figured everybody blows money on big gulps and hamburgers everyday, which is not good for you! Coin collecting is Daniel, and thanks for your video!
In 1976 a draped bust dime in xf was listed for around. $250. I remember this because I wanted one. Asked my Dad and he said, yeah that’s my paycheck, No. Check the same dime in xf now.
Coin collecting is not for anyone who doesn't want to collect just for the sake of collecting. Collect for the history. Fill an album. Hold a piece of history. A fisherman doesn't think he has to catch $25,000 worth the fish to justify the cost of his boat. Collect because you enjoy it! Not to make a huge profit.
Daniel that was a very nice video and I'm in one of those scenarios that you mentioned. I started finding old currency and coins and I knew that I was going to retire yes I do collect silver and I enjoy it I'm not out to make myself a rich person which that wouldn't make me mad if it were to happen LOL but again a very nice video keep up the good work
You don't hear much about PTSD in law enforcement like you do with soldiers. The truth is that many police officers / correctional officers see more bad stuff in their career than many military people. I have been retired for 10 plus years now and I still can't shake some events especially the stuff that hits close to home. God bless you for sharing.

Im leaning towards simply stacking as I've been hearing that the us dollar may not be good in the future. That also being said, I may give collecting rare coins a shot someday.
Great video Daniel!! Collecting coins and Stacking coins has really helped me and is still helping me with my stress and anxiety as well. I think that it’s fun and it makes me feel better doing it. It truly is a great hobby. And it’s the only hobby that makes cents lol.🙂👍
Coin collecting goes as far as your objective. People collect everything not just coins. A serious collector has done the research but beyond research people collect not for value but for personal reasons or just whatever they feel is important to them not everyone else that is collecting. Now we are connected to the world you would be surprised at how something you deem worthless that someone would pay for whatever it is just because it adds to their collection. You may possess something they have been looking for. If it's important to you then that's all that matters. Coins that are elusive are on a higher level than average coins considered worthless but they are not worthless to everyone you just have to come down from the elusive get rich quick level. Unless you are already in it then it's pretty hard to break in. Collecting long enough then at times anomalous coins will come across. Probably not next level coins but anything is possible.
I found that looking at coins is the thrill of the hunt. While dumpster diving is the best feeling and healing while helping others. It has healed me in a lot of problems in my life. Thank you I thought it was just me.
Gutsy and from the heart. Thank you Daniel for your candor and message. I have been thinking a lot about the hobby and my role in it--there are crooked customers and dealers out there, but there are also good people. I aspire to be the latter, but often times find myself falling short--making mistakes and struggling. Your message about setting expectations is solid. Thinking over what I've learned from you has taught me a great deal about this hobby and it can't be discounted. Thank you.
Hello Daniel, A buddy of mine was born in 1943 and collected 500 steel pennies from that year which I inherited. Not knowing anything about coins what advice would you give me? Watched a few videos and like yours best. I purchased a microscope and separated into S, D and Pittsburg piles.
I found a two-headed nickel in coin roll last night. The Coin Doctor who made it did a good job! After I did an internet search on how it was done, it was easy to see that it's a fake. However, even though it's essentially worthless, it's such a conversation piece that I'm going to keep it in my Weird Coins Collection. P.S. Thank you Daniel for your very informative and interesting videos!
I look for the fun of it for me, I just want see how many older coins I can collect from my bank purchases LoL doing fairly well. Obviously not much in the way of grade able coins do to pmd . But I'm good with that LoL
I like the feeling of accomplishment when I acquired the last coin to complete a set. I'm like the guy who wets himself in a dark suit. You get that warm feeling and nobody notices. I'm currently interested in pre-1936 proof sets. 10:4410:44 sets
I've commented before that I too used to work for DOC here in Virginia. Did so for nearly 3 yrs before becoming a Sheriff's Deputy. Worked as a Sheriff's Deputy for 6½ yrs before taking early disability retirement. Law enforcement isn't for everyone. I was an FTO in both DOC & at the Sheriff's Office & used to tell the trainee's that if they ever found out that the job wasn't for them then to quit. There's no harm in backing out because it's not for everyone. You'd rather back on out early than to keep working & possibly get yourself or someone else killed. Fortunately for me I picked up the hobby while I was still working & it does help make the time pass by while basically treasure hunting. If you find something worth more than face value then great. If you don't then there's always the next box to hunt!
Similar start. Thanks for all of your real advice. I hate the click-bait froo froo videos. Your info keeps me grounded and humble in this field. Great channel, Daniel!! Katy Jordan
Thanks for sharing your story Daniel. You’ve worked hard and deserve everything great coming your way. I also worked as a correctional officer after I left the military and I can relate. Very stressful. I’ve been collecting since I first started finding Indian head pennies in my yard in the early 60s growing up in Maine. You’re a great teacher and I respect your integrity
You know that's probably the best video I've watched on a topic that totally describes me, got into this about two years ago and it totally gives me a sense of reality to me and also helped out when I was down to ground zero with my life. Thank you so much for this video!!!
Great message! I concur ! As a coin roll hunter I do it for the sheer enjoyment. I've been ordering $6700 a week from my bank....from halves to nickels...built a beautiful collection! I sell a few on eBay at fair prices to get a coin to a fellow collector without trying to get rich. Found coins I never thought I'd see again. I am 65 y/old and remember my coin collecting days as a youth. You're channel and a few others got me back into a great hobby. Thank you! Keep on searching!
Thank you - I have been collecting a long time - and due to my age I am planning to sell most of it --just need to figure out how- especially in today's economy
I concur. If you are collecting coins solely as a means of financial rewards you are spending your time and money in the wrong place. I think most of the great coin collections we have heard about were because someone got satisfaction from a completing a series, finding the best or rarest example, with little regards to the investment potential. For me it is a tangible connection to our nations past. Someone a century or longer ago handled the coin I now hold in my hand. That is a connection you don't get from collecting spoons, stamps, plates, etc. Also I enjoy the aesthetics of some of our American coinage, they are simply attractive to look at. Getting back into coin collection after a lapse of 40 years, I think I'm going to start a non-gold Type collection and get MS 65+ examples of each coin where possible and financially feasible. Ideally I would display them and enjoy their beauty and history. That should be fun and I look forward to the journey.
Amen to that. You have helped me with all the videos for sure and I'm forever grateful.. I thoroughly enjoy roll hunting. It's the excitement of never knowing what the next coin will have on it
Let the haters hate and give no attention to them, because that's what they need. Keep doing your thing Daniel. I appreciate your honesty and up front approach on the channel. The way you provide information to the audience has feeling and demonstrates the passion you have for what you do. Thank you.

God bless you 🙏
PTSD has multiple sources. It's non-discriminatory.
I have collected sports cards, comic books and coins. I have enjoyed all 3 but the only one I have profits from is coins.
Its like treasure hunting, and everyone loves treasure hunting..
Thank you.
The Gate is narrow indeed! Best wishes!
If you got time and money and it makes you happy do it.
Hello Daniel,
A buddy of mine was born in 1943 and collected 500 steel pennies from that year which I inherited. Not knowing anything about coins what advice would you give me? Watched a few videos and like yours best. I purchased a microscope and separated into S, D and Pittsburg piles.
They’re not worth that much unless uncirculated and then it’s around $5 each.
Your Dad sounds awesome
I found a two-headed nickel in coin roll last night. The Coin Doctor who made it did a good job! After I did an internet search on how it was done, it was easy to see that it's a fake. However, even though it's essentially worthless, it's such a conversation piece that I'm going to keep it in my Weird Coins Collection. P.S. Thank you Daniel for your very informative and interesting videos!
You collect for the same reason people collect glass sings etc i enjoy it
I look for the fun of it for me, I just want see how many older coins I can collect from my bank purchases LoL doing fairly well.
10:44 10:44 sets
Pre 1935! Wow. I'm back at 55. Lol. I like them so much I have 3.
Thank you Daniel for your story and for helping us in the community.

What is the greatest coin "discovery" have you made in terms of value?
I have a video on that.
Thanks for making this Daniel. Coins also got me through some very dark times in my life
It has been a help 😮
I'm a disabled US Army veteran, coin colleting savwd me
Thanks for your service
Respect
You know that's probably the best video I've watched on a topic that totally describes me, got into this about two years ago and it totally gives me a sense of reality to me and also helped out when I was down to ground zero with my life. Thank you so much for this video!!!
I think you are a honable man
Yup
Prayers and Blessings Daniel!! I'm not as Good as I can get, but I'm Better than I used to be, Keep Up The Good Work Brother!!
Great information
💯
👌
Dream your dream…. God Bless you and your family. 💞🙏💞
Thank you.
You did more time in prison than me😅😅😅😅
What you do, Daniel, you do it well. I’m glad you left the correctional facility. Searching through coins helped me through the COVID turmoil.
👨🏽💻👍🏽
Great and honest video!
If it's silver, or has an 18 on it, i collect it.
Thank you for sharing your story and teaching us about collecting Coins. It is so much fun ! I enjoy finding new and unusual coins every day.
That’s great advice. Very encouraging.
