I bred Arabians and also had an Appy, and this is at least a half Arab, roan or grulla in color - can't really tell. Grulla is a mouse color. She's really gorgeous and may be a purebred Arab. Low withers, that beautiful neck and her head isn't concave but still elegant enough to be Arab, and she has a level croup. They're a desert horse, sure footed, intelligent, spirited and will be wonderful if you can get Rick to help train her. She looks too young for riding but ground work is a must as a prelude (lunging, grooming, walking, etc.). It must be bad for someone to have to abandon this beauty and I'm glad she went to you and not a slaughter house.

Hi Lester. The filly looks like she has a lot of Arabian blood in her. Alot of them are born dark and slowly turn gray. That looks like what she's doing. A lot of them have tiny darker spots called ticking. They are considered a hot blooded horse. Very energetic. They are not usually a large horse. And are finer boned.
Lester I enjoyed this whole video. The new baby goat is precious, I am happy the people surrendered the filly to ISS and love, love, love to see the longhorns in the LHLS pasture. Dr Cochran can check her teeth but she looks and acts young so she has some growing to do. As a horse lover, i am so invested in Buccees and Voo and now this beautiful girl. She moves beautifully. I feel so sorry for her former owners cuz giving her up had to be heartbreaking. I know it would make me sad to give any of mine up. 🌟There are many helpful rotating sprinkler heads you can use on a hose end that will disperse it very evenly & gently... Some with automatic timers, etc. It'll relieve you of everything but having to move it from one area to another. Lots of experience with this, living for several decades in a high desert farming area of the NW. It's very easy.. Works like a charm!! "Set it & forget it!!"😊 Night watering or early morning is the best for watering times. Avoid watering during daylight hours, because you'll lose a lot of water thru evaporation with the sun beaming down, & it might easily scorch any new growth coming up!! (Water + sunshine + heat = burnt plant life!)❤

Lester, as far as your emotions...there are no doubt many reasons but "Harvey" was a very traumatic time. You lost everything and you learned what is important in life from it. So, no reason to be embarrassed or ashamed of "feeling" life!!!! I understand that may be difficult for a man like you to accept, but life and nature knows what we need and it shows us. I agree that it was best to have all the bulls at LHL. You can keep your eye on them all while they are separated from the females. Tex is smart and will be very stressful to even move him. He's at home at LHL. The other 2 are young and can adjust faster than Tex would. One day at a time. It's great you have different options for all your babies ! Never be ashamed to cry . We all need an emotional outlet . I taught my son it's ok to cry and feel emotion . God gave us tears for a reason .

That is a realy beautiful horse. I'm sure whoever left her there, was very sad. I am sooo happy for Tex to have some company. He was not happy. Now we'll see a big change in his demeanor ❤❤❤

What a beautiful horse that has been surrendered to you- how lovely she was excited to run around- was concerned when she slipped that she could have broken a leg but thankfully she was okay - she seems friendly which is a positive and not aggressive - she’s obviously young and will learn her limits over time- what an amazing gift someone gave you guys with this filly - definitely a great rescue 👍🏻 you could call by my name Maria which is a good Spanish name- just a thought 🥰🇦🇺

I agree that it was best to have all the bulls at LHL. You can keep your eye on them all while they are separated from the females. Tex is smart and will be very stressful to even move him. He's at home at LHL. The other 2 are young and can adjust faster than Tex would. One day at a time. It's great you have different options for all your babies ! What works best for them you are here to figure that all out. Keep doing what you're doing. Hugs to all!! ❤

Omg why did that video of the horse make me cry. Lester that is pure joy and happiness. I'm so glad Rick told you. She is truly beautiful. She looks like the size of Dusty horse thats a year old. You are right in Louisiana that is how you see horses. On ropes it's so sad and heartbreaking. Thank you for taking her in. God puts situations in front of us that he knows we can handle.
