Nice review! I purchased mine, a Silver White SE with the sunroof and 4Motion, just two weeks ago. So far, I’m loving it. Although it’s EPA rated at 27 MPG highway, I’m *averaging* 27 in mixed driving, and got 37 MPG on a 150 mile highway trip. Mind you this is on regular 87 octane fuel (premium is not required) on an engine with less than 500 miles on it, in Sport mode (transmission and vehicle dynamics), and with the annoying auto start/stop feature disabled. Not much to complain about there! My only gripe so far - and this is something I read about before I bought the car - was the hesitation off the line at times. I honestly don’t think it’s turbo lag; to me it feels like a programming issue, as it doesn’t happen all the time. The car is simply unresponsive for a split second, making it difficult to take off smoothly and potentially scary if you’re trying to merge into traffic. It stands out as an almost unforgivable flaw only because the rest of the vehicle is so refined, and it’s really inexcusable at this price point. I’m hoping VW will address this soon. It’s not a quick vehicle, but the drop in horsepower is more than offset by the increase in torque, so in daily driving it’s not as big an issue as the numbers would lead you to believe.
Yeah the delay in first gear is horrible . Bloody annoying . I'm actually taking my polo back to VW because I read it's the DSG box that "learnt" slow habits when I first got it. You have to reset the settings and drive like a maniac till it learns you
My nabe just got one, in white of course, only color it seems to come in lol, I have to say it looks awesome in her driveway. "Compact" but not puny looking like many other small 'utes. Now, Mr Matt, please do the XC40!
About the price, purchased mine this month 09/04/19. A Tiguan SE 4MOTION with Panoramic roof, got a total of $4,500 in discounts (felt like a VIP, until a week later when everybody was given $4,000 discounts). So it is a bargain, FYI my contacts at the dealer said 2020 will be less supply and discounts with Volkswagen concentrating on The rollout of the small Puebla made SUV this summer.
Hey nice review, in the store for a new tiguan (new to vw) a couple of questions are they really expensive to maintain? V.s honda, toyota, nissan etc etc, and also does the tiguan require premium gas? Thanks in advance
I have a Passat currently as one of my cars. It's a bit more expensive to maintain than the Japanese cars. I switched to Infiniti because of reliability
Mario Reyes hi Mario thanks for watching! The R Line was supposed to be released this spring but I have yet to see one on lots. Hold tight for a another month! R line for SEL will be about a 1500$ package and on SEL premiums it'll be another 1750$
Malachi Taylor good question. I have grown up with VWs and I've alawys been pretty satisfied. They're not as reliable as say a Honda or Toyota, but they're better than a Mercedes. I like VW because a lot of the time they give you nicer materials in the cabin and it feels more premium than it's competitors. Those are just my thoughts you should go drive a couple and see what you think!
I always like reviews of Honda and Toyota but I am now more interesting other brands like VW or Ford , I rented a Ford Edge last month for road trip and I think is pretty nice inside, I try avoiding ford because of fuel but is not that bad.
Dont buy it!!! Im a current owner, the panoramic roof lighting catches fire!!! They claim due to humidity !? Humidity?? They have not made it known to the public, only current owners threw the mail. I own mine 8 months ive hade nothing but problems with my roof , now it catches fire, nice. The ambient lighting catches fire. Ask ur dealer see what he or she tells u. Im letting u no,! Its a defect. Id be happy to answer any questions u may have.
I just bought the 2018 Tiguan in black and it’s been 3 days and also my first SUV coming from sports cars I love it!
Jay Dilla that's awesome I'm glad to hear you like your new SUV! Thanks for watching!

It’s out there now, but very hard to find. My dealer had an orange one and I’ve seen a blue one.
7.5 inches to the wheel base?! That is at least 5!
Greg Hohl AT LEAST 5😱😱😱😱😱😱
Trap airhorn***
Switch blade key? Not in mine. Done away w that.
Holy snap how tall are you? The car looks so tiny compared to you 😂
Hahaahah could just be the camera angle I suppose. I'm just 6'1" Thanks for watching!
Whats your opinion on VW because I never had VW, are they reliable?

ok . yeah I am not really a car person so is nice to see perspective from someone who knows this stuff.
Thanks
Malachi Taylor no problem! That's what I'm here for! Are there any other cars you're interested in or want to see videos on?
I always like reviews of Honda and Toyota but I am now more interesting other brands like VW or Ford , I rented a Ford Edge last month for road trip and I think is pretty nice inside, I try avoiding ford because of fuel but is not that bad.

Jorge Rmz. Oh it's coming 😈
Downshift MKE I can't wait to drive that car!
Lame review. No walk around looking at any of the features in detail. Just watching him drive around talking about it.
