it‘s all good. we‘ve all been there. Balteus is basically FromSoft trying to tell you to maybe change your build (Bubble Gun + Pulse Blade is quite good)
Yeah he’s rough Use pulse weapons to pierce his shield, then the get some heavy hitter weapons to capitalise off the stun. My recommendations would be pile bunker, shotties, or grenade launchers. Also (for me at least), a lightweight setup helps a lot. You’ll be able to avoid his missiles easier and close in on him faster. Just try not to get hut, otherwise you die in 2-3 hits

@@AK-es9dn For weapons open at that point, the starting melee blade is a solid choice for the shield and damage in general. The basic shotgun is, provided you use it close in, a solid option as well. The shield Balteus uses is a HUGE target, and it tends to hover in place for extended periods. Plasma missiles can thus put it work. Consider a shield for use against his shotgun and grenade launcher shots. Deliberately taking the hit on a freshly deployed shield can cut a 3.3k AP damage explosion down to a 900 AP hit with little stun. The shield can also help if you get caught in the edge of his Assault Armor pulse. Boost Kick does 300% damage on stunned targets, and can contribute to putting down the pulse armor as well (as it doesn't interrupt reloading of weapons.) That's my advice, from my own fight with Balteus. I got stubborn about using the Turner assault rifle, when I had a shotgun to hand. Yeah, it's not the Zimmerman, but it doesn't need to be. One last bit of advice 621, that shield is such a big target that you can use a close range FCS, your not going to miss Balteus at long range because of poor accuracy.

I've been trying to beat Balteus for like 6 hours I don't think FromSoft wants me to finish the game
