Owner Equivalent rent may be overstating housing inflation now but it severely understated it from 2020 thru 2022. I would prefer that we use actual housing prices to gauge the price of housing and I look forward to the day that OEI is rightfully sent to the trash bin but the Fed shouldn't pick and choose measures to fit some agenda.
