BMW M3 GTR logic: In Rockport the car has taken multiple cops, road blocks, light/heavy SUVs with no damage but in Palmont gets totaled by Cross just reversing right in the bumper.

I know Im late asf but: It didnt get totaled because of Cross crashing into it, it got totaled because of the metal pipes
@@kilian20v metal pipes...the player dodge tht...the reason it was totaled because the player had to escaped from high speed chase in rockport and went to palmont... after tht cross was behind chasing player by surprise and force the player to hit the gas hard to the bottom of the canyon until the engine is totaled....well we didnt hear the engine stopped in the scene but its makes more sense....

I mean lets be thankful that they've made the V8 powered M3 GTR, the actual GTR, and actually put a whinny note on the engine sound *shrugs*
Edit: I would've improved the handling. As a GTR it doesnt turn very well
Edit 2: Also about the straight-cut gears, the actual aggressive one is the 2004 M3. Heat has the 2006 M3, but id prefer the 2004 tbh. But guess better than nothing

the original M3 GTR only raced for one season, and that was 2001. There is no such thing as a 2006 M3 GTR, that’s a flaw on the games part

They can just go for M3 GT2 engine since it should be much easier to find since it was available to many racing teams and far more recently than m3 gtr. Not to mention it has identical sound to p60b40
There are so many BMW racecars with flatplane crank V8s that they have many options for sound recording. Heck even the M4 DTM had a naturally aspirated V8 for a little while

They honestly could improve a little bit like the engine sound but honestly we all can agree that this is the best thing since 2015 nfs
I would say nfs 2015 is actualy the worst engine sound, eaven carbon and old most wanted did better
From what I can see, the way the m3 gtr was done in this game is like that of someone trying to make the car from scratch instead of buying it as it originally was.
But again my opinion
Because the M3 GTR was never sell to the public, and there is just 10 street version of the cars
I just love this M3 GTR. Its the most iconic car EVER
I feel like although the car is nice and the sound is good, the engine itself needs a better performance. The rev range should be way higher than it is. The only remains of the m3 gtr straight cut gears are in gear 7, and swapping this engine in any other car will not bring it up to 400+. The car itself doesn't have tow hooks on the MW2005 version (probably the player took them) one of the tubes is missing compared to the nfs version.
The V8 engine used in this car sounds like it's using a cross-plane crankshaft instead of the flat-plane crank of the P60B40, which would explain the generic muscle car noise. This coupled with the lowered stock performance such as power output (about 100 less compared to the P60B40's 400+ bhp), identical handling to the stock E46 rather than superior handling contributed by the roll cage and stripped entirior and a much lower rev range. On top of having a quieter straight cut gear noise (sounds more like a really loud supercharger than the mechanical whining of the original gearbox in my opinion), this car is not a perfect replica, not accounting for the 1 error made with the livery, or the fact that the exhaust tip has the heat plate while it's not supposed to. But it's good to see that Ghost studio can make a decent attempt at replicating it anyways!
Another opinion: I think the blue used for the livery could use a less dark shade of blue.
I agree, and I also think you're right about the shade of blue it seems a little too dark to me
@@TheRacingJoker Silver is far too dark aswell. But then its base of NFS Carbin rendition of it. MW05 is really light silver with bright blue. Carbon has both colours really dark and i dont really like it that way....we keep either getting goddamn white with super dark blue or really dark silver with dark blue.....

@@TheRacingJoker Also 1 factor you missed about the engine. The GTR 4L V8 in the game stock has 335 hp but M3 E92 4L V8 has 414 hp.

People have taken sound files from old NFS games and put them in the new ones. Some people put the Underground 2 R34 sound files into NFS 2015 and Payback.

This engine note is from the outside where as MW ‘05’s sound is from the interior (even though there’s no interior view) so why the interior sound wasn’t used for this game makes sense since there’s no interior view at all as opposed to NFS Shift, the ONLY series that has an interior view

The Whine part is created due to the straight-cut transmission which is cool.
My opinion is, they got the sound right. They focused more on the exterior sound more than the interior sound like MW did, like i said its my personal reference and opinion
I like to think the differences are from whoever was restoring it being unable to find the exact engine and gearbox so they got the closest they could find
NO YOU ARE WRONG!!! the hood isnt the original m3 gtr hood, its an aftermarket hood from m2 motoring, which was used in previous nfs games and isnt right for this car. the outlines and vents on the hood arent right and so isnt the vinyl on the hood right. just compare pictures from most wanted 05 to heat, you will see it. pls update your video
how is the hood and the vinyl wrong? they look exactly the same in both games. only difference is that the different graphics make the colours look different but even that is pushing it.
@@StanceSantos are you blind? compare the outlines on the hoods, the middle section is much bigger and round in the original mw05!! and the vinyl goes to the edges of the windshield in mw05, in heat they make a bow to left and right to the edges of the windshield

They've only done that so the blue stripe runs through the inside vents AS IT DID IN THE ORIGINAL, i dare you to try and make a more "accurate one" you will struggle trying to get it to stretch to the outside while also running through the inside vents, also the area on the front fits around the bulge in the hood AS IT DID IN THE ORIGINAL, if you're not happy make your own video

I love this car so much that I actually own 2: one with a naturally aspirated P60B40 V8 engine for the nostalgia, and one with the best build for the car (4.4L V8 with ultimate dual turbo).

You actually forgot to mention that the rear tail lights is wrong. The taillight part for the reverse light is a older bmw m3 e46 light. The first models, 2000 and 2001, was equipped with these non LED light, but what annoys me is that the reverse light is non LED but the brake lights are. They should either use the old non LED lights or use the full LED lights. In Need for Speed most wanted, the reverse lights was LED, but not this one in heat. You can also see that the white part is like “fully white”, but in nfsmw they are just a thiny stripe with white light comming out of it. If you wanna se what i mean, search for “Bmw m3 e46 gtr street version” which was equipped with the old non LED tail lights. Then after you’ve done that, search for “bmw m3 e46 LED taillights”. You will quickly see that the bmw m3 e46 LED taillights has the same brakelight in need for speed heat, but n the reverse light. The “bmw m3 e46 gtr street version” has the same reverse lights as in need for speed heat, but not the same brake lights.
In the mission “follow the law” the M3 was sitting on the flatbed in the shop & the 2 cops who were talking about it mentioned something along the lines of “picking it up from a racer the previous night & it looked as though the guy was going to cry & Mercer would’ve loved it.” So by that logic since it’s supposed to have been the Hero car from MW & Carbon the car was recovered from the canyon & restored back to racing condition quite some time before Mercer got his hands on it. Who exactly “the racer” was is still to be determined. Maybe the hero or somebody close to the hero from that time

I would say after cross wrecked Hero's BMW it landed in police custody as one of the most Wanted vehicles in NFS history. After Hero left olimpic city then Bayview then Rockport and finally lost it in the canion I'm pretty certain it was confiscated by the police and probably redone so the car could be used for undercover on the force given Heros reputation across 4 city's an officer thats undercover would take full advantage of hero's rep and Car to weasel their way into the underground street racing world.

Also I have both the M3 GTR and M3 E46 in game both with GTR bodykit and engine, all the same mods, the E46 feels heavier, obviously the GTR been a race car is lighter and Is a lot more responsive to turning, it takes turns at higher speeds, but I find the Street M3 easier to use in fast races due to it drifting better
2001 BMW M3 GTR E46
It's still the original from Most Wanted/Carbon, however the reason the sound is different from what it used to be, is because the motor and transmission sounds (like majority of the other cars in Heat) are from Turn 10 Studios, and are sounds from Motorsport 7 & 8. They did cut corners with the handling of the GTR because they just copied and pasted everything from the base M3 E46, and mainly because of how they've gone with all handling since NFS 2015. I personally just wish that they only gave you the car after you beat the game, and not make it buyable in the Dealership, and same goes for the other E46.

I Think the reason behind that different engine noise and the transmission is its swapped with new parts, because the car was totaled. that car need a new engine and transmission, its because the original m3 gtr engine is extremely rare and no aftermarket spare parts for that car. Darius take the car from us and sell it to someone else to change his $150k that he gave to cross to save us, and after 13 years probably the owner rebuild that totaled m3 with new parts...

Here is my theory of how did Frank Mercer might have bought the BMW:
1. Since the start of NFS: Carbon we can see the BMW got totaled because of the Truck getting in the way.
+ With being Cross in the Cutscene, Maybe after that Cutscene he might tried to fix the "Totaled M3" and decided to Sell it to Frank Mercer who might be his "Old Friend".
2. It's possible that The Collector from NFS: Payback was trying to search for the "Long Lost M3 GTR", By searching it on the Internet, Founded that Mercer got the vehicle, And then The Collector wanted it, So he buyed the M3 and some of the illegal vehicles that were transported into the Ship (In NFS: Heat).
That's all of my theories,

Why you put a Turbo on this Car?
I wish i found this before i played the game then i never would have played the game cause details from one review tells all
The only thing that's bothering me about the m3 gtr in heat, is the engine sound and the livery for the hood and the hood itself, becuase the hood in MW 05' was just a stock M3 E46 hood but with the vents and the livery lining up with it, especially the two vents on the rear bumpers and the little lip on the trunk, if they added all of that, it would look perfect, and also the metal plate where the exhaust is. But I can at least appreciate it's THE M3 GTR instead of a E46 with the gtr bodykit
All fair points, hopefully they keep improving it as they make new games, but I have a feeling they're going to "reboot" the series again
The visuals are about 95% accurate, the Heat car has the metal plating around the exhaust, but misses what I think is the fuel cap in the rear right window. And while the MW car was naturally aspirated, in this video I could hear what I think is turbo when letting go of the gas.
Also, interesting to see how EA admit that they haven't made a truly iconic car since 2005.

Honestly they should've atleast given the gtr the maximum HP like they did with the regera. considering the m3 gtrs maximum horsepower were some where at 490+ that's in my opinion anyway.

my headcannon is that the heat player and mw/carbon player are the same and that mercer obtained the car by confiscating it from another racer (likely the no limits player who gained the m3 in a special event) when they were overwhelmed by the high speed task force after joining the league

I’m just glad they got the m3 gtr in the right direction as far as nfs goes because I’m honestly tired of the regular v6 engine from past nfs games prior to 2015 this is a relief now it’s only got to get better from here so I don’t think anything is wrong with the sound from nfs heat because keep in mind they probably just wanted to see what we think of the sound and how they can make it better anyway
I don't care that engine sound it's 100% original like real life GTR. It's good in first 4 gear, and TOTALLY AWESOME AFTER THE 5th. The only down, GTR is the only car that we can't modify engine sound. Imagine if we can do that.
I have a theory that after you totaled it and went to get your first car in Carbon, Darius had repaired it himself in one of the safehouses and he is a Millionare, consdiering the audi r8 le mans and the 150k bounty paid to cross and then he shipped it somewhere.
Since nfs 2015 came out they messed up the livery on the hood and and the blue color wasn’t that dark
The real sounds are louder because it's a camera from I side the car not a chase camera

It think what they went for is and exterior sound because the one in '05 was the interior sound of the engine never the less form me it sounds as good and meaty.
The M3 GTR can be seen in an in game cut scene damaged in the chop shop, so my guess is Mercer acquired it written off.

I like to think that the original owner (( the character of the 05 Most Wanted game )) rebuild it after it got wrecked over the span of the years it was gone.
I mean, The guy went thru hell and back only to get it back after it got taken away, So there must be some commitment.
And if something like that would happen to me, I would want to rebuild it as well, for sure. But that process takes time.
I guess Frank just got it the same way as he got the rest of the cars. Which breaks my heart for the original owner.
I`ve always couldn`t understand the logic how the M3 GTR go really totaled by Cross only because he just reversed his Corvette right in the bumper...
for looks I'd say they nailed it with this car reminds me of Most wanted 2005 all over again. It's got the sound from Carbon,though that does leave everyone here with a lot of questions. Last we saw the car was totaled in Carbon Canyon outside of Silverton,and yet Frank Mercer got his hands on it somehow.

The 2005 sound was recorded from inside the car the sound in heat is most identical to the sound outside of the car

They did a good job but has a very big back story behind it in NFS heat
Now when it comes to sound in video games , recording exhaust notes is a bit tricky
Id rather u put a clip of the car from the outside , there are plenty of clips from the car in multiple occasions doing speed laps
Since this game doesng have an interior view ( which the 2005 did ) u would imagine the car sounding different ( like it sounded in the cutscenes and the opening cinemtic when ever u open the game )

When i get heat it looks like im better of getting the inline 6 m3 e46 and converting it by grinding like you overall i give a 5/10 mostly because the sound is just from a bmw m3 e92 with straight cut gears that start at 5 gear and has speed that is so mediocre criterions m3 gtr would fly by it unless you upgraded it.

People say that the sounds used in Mostwanted 2005 and Carbon are basically modulated Cerbera sounds, whether that's true or not I don't know, apparently the sound files for the GTR are called Cerbera or something

Maybe, there's no canon connection between the Mostwanted/Carbon protagonist and Ryan Cooper yet though

The commentator of prostreet does sometimes mention Darius's supra being parked in a super promotion tent, which includes that the the player could have some connection to ProStreet. The player still isn't ryan cooper though.

I think that the original BMW's accelarating, breaking, its engine, transmission sounds are somewhere among the OG Most Wanted's game files, so why don't they just copy it and put in the game? Or it may be not just one audio file and you can't just Ctrol+C Ctrol+V it, but I think they are clever enough to figurite out how to copy its sound in a nother way.

In nfs heat the engine sounds like the original from 05 when its high in the rpm’s and the vinyl on the hood isn’t correct
might be hogwash but i'm assuming that it was swapped with S65 because P60 is way less common lol.
I engine swapped mine to a F90 M5 engine, with a supercharger. God damn it was better, and it sounds beastly!
Tbh im a bit annoyed by that metal plate around the exhaust. I dont know why it is there bc the og m3 never had one in 2005 most wanted. And the first ALMS GTR also never had one. So i dont know why ea keep putting that there.😐

Well now that we got Unbound, you take the car and deliver it to someone who just got outta Jail and wants the car and named themself …… The Blacklist, which I think we all know is Razor, but in No Limits the car is there and Razor is in that game more than once. You take his modern version of his old mustang, then the modern M4 version of the old M3 GTR, then you get the original M3 GTR and Razor gets mad at you saying you do t deserve it but is also still scared that you have it because he knows you’ll win against him and gives him Vietnam flashbacks of the Original Character that beat him in MW
Playing No Limits just for the story would be interesting
@@TheRacingJoker the regular story is ok but the special events are what’s fun and to be fair I’m not really sure if no limits counts as canon but the M3 GTR is there with Razor and you win it in that event. Then there’s the M4 which actually looks badass. Then a 2015 Mustang version of Razors old S197 Mustang. Celebrities are in it as well, you can win the Late Ken Blocks Hoonigan Mustang and Snoop Dogs Challenger

You know a radical theory could be that NFS Heat and all NFS in general are in just a weird disconjointed non chronological verse. For all we know this could also be the player from MW2005 buying it off of Mercer. After all the car is not legal for street use and is probably smuggled from the legal race scene. Its possibly a reassembled car after a fake bust that was just pimped out to the player's (MW 2005) flavor

I think they got it all right but the one car they got wrong its Rachel's cars wheels they got them wrong
