Funny thing, in NFSMW, the BMW M3 GTR E46 can clock up to 390 Km/h. When racing against Razor, in the Speedtrap race, the Bimmer doesn't go beyond it, 390 is the limit.

Ever since NFSC, the Beamer struggles to get to its maximum speed, 322 Km/h. not even "Infinite NOS" or "Infinite Nitro" cheats help to make it above 322. That's the new limit, 322.
And in the following games, the Beemer has horrible sounds.
But NFSH brought the iconic BMW and its glory days back, with a decent sound, more N20 bottles and a 7-speed gearbox.

Fun fact, NFS World actually had the real M3 GTR as a hidden car, you were able to drive it with a hack. But after a certain update the car was removed from the files BUT you were able to download an older version of the game and drive it offline.
does NFS World have AI opponents, or can only be played with real people online or alone offline?

Exactly, they all sound like a normal m3, so with the 6cyl. MW 2k5 and heat have the right sound with the v8

In addition the only M3 V8 original sound is from Heat. Most Wanted and Carbon are using the TVR Cerbera Engine sound if you check the files of the game

I was actually completley blindsided by how similar to the original the NFS Heat M3 GTR was. After all these years, it is finally a step in the right direction.

Heat did the best modification to the sound of the M3 GTR. With the normal BMW sound combined with the transmission whine of the straight cut gears, they did it best since Carbon.

They actually put the GTR model in the game but didn’t make it drivable.
Its not an e46 its the street version of the bmw m3 gtr
Too me it looks like the street version but someone has tried to replicate the GTR vinyl using the decal editor. If that's the case then you cant really blame EA for this car since its probably player made and unofficial.

The sound from MW2012 could have been perfected with the addition of straight cut gears. The engine sound was good

After so many years of having to listen to the I6 engine from the M3, they finally gave us a proper sound. Gear whine could still be better in heat, but hey, it’s an M3 GTR, what’s not to like?

Inside of s racecar you really barely can hear anything other than gearbox
I personally like the look of older games like Burnout Paradise, Nfs Hot Pursuit, Midnight Club, etc. They look simpler, not as detailed as newer games but they give a cool vibe of nostalgia

In the NFS MW, You can FEEL that you can changing gears with those little jumps the car does. Its those minute details man...
NFS Carbon still stays number one for me.

Technically you could build a lookalike in Undercover, it's just a bit of a pain to get it just right though.

Real soul of M3 GTR E46 feels in NFS Most Wanted as well as Carbon.
And it feels contaminated in other games when it comes to it's oomph.

When it comes to the engine sound, MW2005, Carbon and Heat bang on it th best out of all with Carbon being low pitched.
When it comes to the Straight-Cut gear whine, Carbon represents it most accurate out of all being extremely loud.
Most Wanted and Carbon best sound. I love that slight pause between shifts.

Although MW 2012 sound didn't feel good to hear compared to Heat, must to said that it's more correctly to the fact that the GTR had a flat-plane V8, not a cross-plane like Heat version. Just the whine are not crazy loud compare to other version

thats the stock one when you get the car. which is the only one for the gtr with the whine. engine swap removes the whine just has ultimate+ parts to make it faster.
I love the noise that the BMW makes, The Turbo does it (psi) something when you go in a high rpm in NFSMW 2005

Need for Speed No Limits also had the M3 GTR, just that it was like a 1 week limited time event :( and you would have to collect a bunch of speed cards just to even get close unlocking it.

He visto muchos detalles, por ejemplo en Heat, tiene caja 7ma el M3 GTR, y ya desde el NFS World, que traen los faros traseros LED. (He visto alguna diferencia también en el faro trasero del NFS Heat)
Para mi en cuanto a sonido de motor el mejor esta entre Carbon y Heat. En cuanto a diseño el de 2015

unpopular opinion:
I miss the drafting effect behind cars when you reach a certain speed in Carbon.
it just sucks that it's a little cartoony for some of the NFS games to implement.
a lot of the games after carbon did apply drafting mechanics.
MAYBE it could show up in unbound.

If you really think about it...nobody knows what happened to that car in the NFS universe,because the last official appear was in NFSC before to get destroyed,but after that the protagonist doesnt get the car back officially ,so we must think the car sadly died so many years ago and we can only afford to drive just replicas from people in that universe knew about the most wanted to make a tribute to a legendary unknown driver

There's a high chance that after getting totaled in Carbon, the car is taken by Mercer to Palm City. The car in Heat *is* in fact the real one, because even the license plate is identical.

In nfs heat you can engine swap a 4.4L v8 and it sound more accurate to what it should sound like, and low key faster then stock
