Hey lli liked ypur video, i just bought the older pit boss you show at a 65% off. I never owned one before but I can't wait to use it. Im from Ottawa Ontario Canada, we have cold winters here so shoukd be interesting.
Great job. This was the best comparison I've seen. Also, still amazes me, with all the self mods and mods kits or there, I thought for sure pit boss's next update would include an exterior control for the flame shield.
Great job on comparison. I would like your advice. We have a Big Joe and a Blackstone flat top. Looking for something simple and smaller. We found a Pit Boss Lexington 540 at Costco for $75.00 - which sounded too good to be true. Is it just because it’s an older model?
I thought that was a very good comparison, Scott! Doesn’t look like a whole Lotta difference between the two. They’re both nice griller/smokers. Only thing I can say is, that you you need to have a Dabomb Smokes sticker on the new one! Thanks for sharing!
I would love to see a proper maintenance/repair video for the igniter on the Lexington. Also, do you have any tips to avoid pellet chamber tunneling, or do you simply have to mind it every ~1-1.5 hours?
Is your internal heat hotter then what your control pad is saying? I set mine at 350 then put the meat probe i side to see what it was reading and its saying 400.
@ScottysBackYardBBQ it's 80 degrees here but wonder knocking it up to p5 would help or it's the type of pellets. Be awesome hearing back and thanks for the reply. Cheers
I’d love to see a Boston butt cooked on the onyx if you get a chance i have a onyx Lexington as well and plan on cooking a butt low and slow but not to sure on how to go about it though
Ima go back and check the old Lexington pork butt video out I can not wait to see how it compares from cooking on the old pit to the new one keep doing what you do buddy love the vids
The dang dumper on them things suck. Makes you have to take that grate off. Otherwise love them both and I would argue one of the best at the price point.
Thank you I guess I'll be heading to wall mart to purchase one .
great little pit. any ? just ask me.i try to help you
Once you fixed that glow plug problem, both of them fired up and smoked at the same time...good catch 👍
Yep, both even now.

It will work in the cold. Just uses alot more pellets

Send me 1 I put it on. I appreciate you watching.
Cool test! I liked the mug; As an old Civil Air Patrol folk here, I appreciate all things Air Force!
Thanks. Appreciate it
Well done! 👍
Thanks
I'm hoping I can buy the probe tray and use the holes from the pellet seperator grate to mount it in my old Lexington. Think it would work?
I measure and let you know
It measures the same. The only thing I see differently is the left side has a small curve nit a complete square like the old 1.
@@ScottysBackYardBBQ I’ll call PB next week to see if it’s even available.

Good idea. I do a video on both. I always check my hopper ever 2 hours

Yes, it reads 300 when it's set at 250.strang thing it doesn't do it all the time. I am still trying to figure it out
