THIS WAS TOUGH..SCARED and SURPRISED! (Van Life UK - Wales)
Check out Zip World here, (lot's of cool activities all over Wales, we will deffo be doing more!)
www.zipworld.c...
This week we are still experiencing van life in Wales, in Snowdonia national park. Emily has a scare and we are genuinely shocked by what we find.
We try to balance this week with some adventure at zip world in Penrhyn, the worlds fastest zip line over a quarry, visit Betws y Coed and then finally chill with a camp fire, where Lou actually does some outdoor cooking, at probably one of the best camp sites in the UK (if you like back to basics camping that is)
Having explored only a small part of Wales before and a considerable chunk of the UK, join us to see what we make of North Wales in this weeks welsh van life adventure!
Hopefully you are enjoying this UI travel series as much as we are and we are managing to show you just some of the stunning landscapes that Wales has to offer in this Welsh travel vlog.
As usual, we have tried to include a bit of everything, some cinematic scenery mixed with our usual female van life foolery, we always love hearing what you lot think in the comments so do let us know, and as always, thank you for watching!
Follow us on our journey as we attempt to create a proper youtube travel series as we, two female travelers and vanlifers, attempt to travel across Europe in our rolling tiny home.
Hit the subscribe button to see where our DIY campervan takes us next and how this van life couple copes living in a van!

Since I'm avoiding milk, egg and flour, I can't have these. But I sent an email, so hoping they will think outside the box, and cock up some more recipes. 😊
I’ve tried the Y foods. Very nice Louise. Cheers!
A standing ovation for Emily's bravery and courage to keep her word and face her fears. Lou's circus skills were a surprise. 2 min tour... Excellent timing!!
nothing left to say more, best conclusion!
:-D
@@horstszibulski19 thank you. ¡Pura Vida!
Thank you guys, it was scary for sure but so glad I did it 😀
Emily! What a heroe! I call you braveheart, now!
Travel is all about change and adapting. Before I left England in 2004 I ate only plain crisps and drankbonly lemonade in soft drinks. I came out of a 7/11 in Thailand with a bottle of green tea and a packet of seaweed crisps, what happened? Get used to powdered milk. In my backpack I carried a dual voltage small kettle, tea, coffee, sugar and powdered milk. I could always make a coffee without having to pay £'so. I bought oats ( porridge made with water, not milk)and bananas in every country I went to, a cheap nourishing breakfast.
I'm 70 now and this year I now have a home. I still use powdered milk and still eat porridge.
You two make the BEST videos! We look forward to them every week! Yes Emily was so brave.... i told my grown up kids ages ago that i am going to do that zip line on my 70th birthday! They don't believe me but i am! I love North Wales, we live not too far away and visit there as often as we can, that camp site looked amazing by the way, will definitely have to go there. Hope camp quirky went well, would have gone if i'd had time :-)
Definitely do it, I think the week before there was an 84 year old that done it as well 😀🥳
“No pan meals” are Scouts/Guides back woods cooking. No utensils save a pen knife and tin foil. Best food I’ve ever eaten.
Round of applause for Emily bloody well done .
😀😀
My mom done that when she was about 70 yrs old... Loved it :)
Bravo Emily!!!! And by the way, I have noticed how much effort you guys have put into your videos. They have been getting better and better - the quality of the different shots and things. You've really been upping your game and I'm sure it's a lot of hard work, but it is much appreciated!
Thank you, we really do enjoy it and Lou is very creative but I am her biggest fan
When I was a Cliff Rescue Instructor we would build these things as a method for speedy evacuation of mass casualties from high places such as the roof of a skyscraper.
And for some slightly strange reason, likely My foolhardiness I was always the guy who did the Test Run.
These things are an absolutely fabulous experience and I miss riding them greatly.
Them and Chicago Clotheslines.
😂😂 I would not be that person
OMG Emily. You rock! There is absolutely no way I would have done that! Congratulations on conquering your fear. Have fun at Camp Quirky.
Thanks you and it’s been great
Total respect to Emily for confronting her fears. As a 6'4" heavyweight man I have learnt over the years that true courage often comes in small packages.
The drone footage at the start of stonehenge in the mist was outstanding. One of those 'you had to be there' moments.
Impressed by the juggling Lou but stick to the photography, much more impressive.
I say that it is very difficult in the UK to travel 20 miles and NOT find natural or man made beauty. Other places have some fantastic locations but they are so far apart.
Thank you, I am glad I did it in the end and yeah she needs to stick to her day job 😂
Omg I had to stop the video after Em “landed” - I couldn’t see through the tears of laughter. That was so funny - and so very well edited. The videos just get better and better 🏴❤️😍
😂 thanks, I think 🤣
@@campervibe it was definitely a compliment- I keep pressing refresh on Sunday till the new vlog appears. I’m hooked!
Lucky AJ to be chosen by you both. 🦍🦮Best life, always has company, travels around, loved and needs come first, along with Summers. 🐈⬛ A life most children would envy!👏👍🙏🏼
Thanks lynne, their definitely living their best life, we really are just the chauffeurs financing their adventures 🤣😂
I'm off to Wales for the first time in September. It's been on my bucket list for years. Your vlogs are what prompted me to book my holiday there. Cannot wait.
🥳🥳🥳🥳
The best thing about that zip line, is that it was long enough for her to be able to actually start to slightly enjoy it. 😉
When you face your fears, so many opportunities opens up.. Suddenly there's this whole new world to discover. 😀
I did end up enjoying it as well 😀
@@campervibe
Glad to hear, because it is really fun.. 😄
Wales is so stunning, where my heart longs to be. As I was watching the beautiful landscape where Louise went walking from the camping ground, I thought how much it looks like a place here in southern Tasmania. But the most incredible thing is that the place here is called Fairy Glen. When Louise mentioned Fairy Glen as a nearby place to visit, it really was one of those moments. The Zip Line was speccy and admire Emily for her courage. I too am afraid of heights but I would still do the Zip Line. What an opportunity to fly.
So enjoyed this video. Really packed with amazing. Thank you so much. Be safe always.
It was great to do actually and I’m so glad I did it as well
Please please create a gif of all of Emily’s “LOU--EEEZzz”
“HONEST--ly” 😂😂😂
Wow Action Emily. So impressed. Didn't think you'd go through with it as I remember you not even going on that bridge in France. Proper bravery doing something that you are genuinely scared of. But I think we know by now how determined and effective you can be so you wouldn't and didn't let us down. This was another great video but definitely an Emily tribute week, got to be the first two minute tour under 2 minutes ever, even if it did nearly kill you! Enjoy Camp Quirky.
I think I felt safer as it was not in my hands 😂 I’m a tripper so walking over the bridge was horrendous 🤣
Emily - one word R E S P E C T! to overcome a fear of heights and zip down that wire - courageous! Thank you for the stickers! happy days 😁😁💝💝🥂🥂
Cheers Rob
Fantastic, well done Emily on the zip wire. I hate heights too so it was good to see you succeed. Great back to nature campsite, its so hard to find those allowing fires. I love them, smelly or not 😊👍
We was super lucky couldn’t believe they allowed the fires and thank you
OMG I was literally stood up in my kitchen shouting Go Emily wow you deserve a trophy 🏆 for doing it cos I know there is no way I could of done it ..... Bet your so proud of her Louise....😊😊
True story:-
A long, long time ago I was at Penrhyn quarry doing one of those "team building" things for a week and when I had a go on the zip-line (more commonly known as a "death slide" back then) the bottom end of the rope snapped and I fell into the water.
19 year-old me thought it was hilarious but, with the benefit of hindsight, it could have ended very, very, badly if it'd happened when I was over solid ground.
Gulp.
That is horrendous
Thankfully rides are inspected nowadays, by experts who take their jobs seriously.
Rollercoasters don't collapse or catch fire, chair-o-planes don't go flying into the crowd, swingboats don't topple over...
Wales is a beautiful country. Highlights: camping with sheep; Emily’s action woman zip lining; Louise’s good common sense at the bridge; yay for the two minute tour win; those potatoes look awesome! You women enjoy your beans; AJ and summer enjoying the site. See you next time.
It was lovely there, we had such a nice break away even with the zip line 😂
Emily is far braver than I am. Because of my being so stupid about my health, I'll never be able to do the things the two you do. A nice travel blog of your travels and the humor is why I keep watching. Stay safe. 👍👍
Thank you 😀
Another great video girls . . . . but we have to say one word to Emily . . . RESPECT.
😀😀
Well done Emily and can't wait to see Louise do the zipwire too! We love your channel, have now watched all you are now added to our selection of vanlifer updates to watch every Sunday teatime! We are getting our own little van later in year and just can't wait! Keep up the good work, love the drone footage, nature films and the humour!
That’s amazing to hear glad we are on the list and thanks

Emily, Well done on the zip wire "wow supergirl comes to Wales" Lou was ready to catch you even if it was only on a camera. AJ is looking relaxed as is summer, not been to Wales for about ten years but I want to now zipworld looks fun.
Do you I really enjoyed it in the end 😀😀
---And, what a nice, handsome dog! Glad you shared your treat with him!
Thank you for taking good care of your kitty, too - letting her outside ( but, I would not let her off leash - at all!! If she gets spooked, she'll run off, and you'll Never see her again 🥶😭😭
[Take it from me...])
Thank you for taking us along so we can see the beautiful scenery!
Emily, you rock! What a beautiful countryside Wales has. Makes me itch to get there and see it for myself. Thank you both so much for sharing with us.
Our please 😀
For a tiny slip of a girl you do have an extraordinarily large pair of solid steel kahuna’s. Well done Emily. I am still working my way through your back catalogue but catching you up slowly. 👏👏👏👊
Well done Emily, you nailed it. You should be so proud of yourself, that zip wire looked amazing, I need to have a go. Stay safe Ladies on your travels.. 😊❤️
Definitely have ago, I was glad I did 😀
LOUISE!!! Fancy making Emily do it on her own!!
Ever ready Emily!!! 👏🏆🥇Woo Hoo, you smashed it 😊 What a beautiful area, can't say I fault you for having a little chill time. I'm the same when it comes to fires...I can't stand smelling of smoke and sitting wearing a bin bag and shower cap kinda spoils the aesthetic, lol 😂
😂 I might have to try that set up next time though 😂
You two are so much fun! Thanks for making me smile so much. Plus seeing the sites of the UK is lovely.
Glad that we can 😀
Well done Emily. Would love to do something like that but my health put a stop to it
Well done Emily bravo👏👏👏👏
Another brilliant episode, well done Emily doing the Zip Wire, we did Zip World for our 60th & loved it..
You put so much effort into your vlogs, absolutely top production as usual, you two are so much fun.
Thanks guys, can't wait for the next one...
Take Care
Steve & Ang x
Thank you guys
Emily the eagle ! You two make the most natural videos on TH-cam. Thanks.
Thanks 😀
Huge Congrats Emily. You Star 💫
Zip wire looked fab, definitely on my bucket list.
That camp site looked so lovely. Right up my street, love back to basics.
Yeah it was a nice one and the walks were good as well and thank you
WOW Emily bravery at its best 👏Have just found your channel yesterday & subbed.Have been to the beautiful UK three times & loved every second. We shall return.🙏
Really enjoying seeing you Loiuse & your two gorgeous “fur babies” adventures.Hugs from Australia.🦘🐨😊
Hey Sharon, thanks and welcome along 😀😀
well done
Emily, we'll done👍
A standing ovation for Emily, Well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!
😀😀
Only been to Wales a few times. But agree it is absolutely stunning and best kept U.K. secret
The love between you two is just beautiful even the sponsor parts are fun so happy for your amazing family
Aw thank you
Instantly recognised the thumbnail from the bridge into Tan Aeldroch Farm. Stayed there only 2 months ago when we had the hot weekend, and took advantage of a few days in Snowdonia. Lovely site by the river there. I personally decided against the Zip wire! Well done Ems!
Great site right, we loved the walks straight off of it as well 😀
8:01 anything like 'Bets a coyd' gets you understood if you're not Welsh (I'm not).
I bought this for my wife for her 61st birthday..... she loved it and didn't wee herself 😂😂😂😂😂
Emily, you are a real sport. I wouldn't do that zip line. Wales do look beautiful.
Yes, B-Y-C is ALWAYS busy. Always always always
Absolutely Amazing ! Im not afraid of heights I don't care how far up a ladder I go, as long as I have one foot on the ground.
well aal be buggered,11 thumbs up for our emms, yeah did reet gud lass [i was right about the rubber knickers...]
spot-on as per. lou, + you could run away to join the circus, no end to your talents!
07:30,thought emms was tapping out morse code on fanny's door lock, funny thing adrenaline...
13:20, emms opens the gate, 1 foot over her head, lou, chest height, what's going on girls...
stay safe, play nice
I done it 🥳🥳 so glad I did as well. The circus would soon send Lou back 😂
A massive bigupya to Emily 👍👍❤️
The past few vids have really taken me back to a couple trips I took with my mum back in the late 90s and early 2000. She was born and raised in Erdington and hadn't been back since she was 14 (came to US after the war). We went to Cornwall and Wales where she vacationed as a child. Seeing it again is bittersweet as she's gone now but wonderful memories. I'd love to visit it again especially seeing spots we didn't get to see. BTW, I called it Betsy Coed because I couldn't pronounce it either lol.
DON'T DIE!!!🤣🤣Lou, you crack me up!! Well done Adventurous Emily ...legend!!🙃😉🥰
Supportive ain’t she 😂
@@campervibe Haha, Emily your face was a picture...was funny though. I love how you're so open with the nervous poo!! I'm the same 🤣but enjoy stuff in the end. I'm definitely going to try that zip wire x
👍👍Fair play to Em , brave , this road trip is brilliant👍👍🤞👌✌💖💖🙏😊
Cheers Wayne, glad I done it 😀
💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Well done Emily 🏆
Wales is as nice as Scotland I agree ❤️❤️
Well done Emily, very brave of you!
I salute you Emily, when you are scared and still do it that's bravery...well done. I've been to North wales a lot as my cousin has a cabin up there - I've been to the Lake District as much because it is my sort of country and I think the Lake District is somewhere I would recommend. I am extremely adventurous and have done a lot of climbing in these areas. The jungle gym is something I would try if it were somewhere else, but to spoil such as beautiful place with rusting metal and something so unnatural is a shame. I love your dog, he's a beauty.
That zip wire did look bloody awesome .... well done Emily!
And Betws-y-Coed .... one of the easier names to pronounce
Once I was on it I did enjoy it 😀
Well done Emily you did the ZIP LINE so Great you Rock Congratulations to the both of you . You are such fun we love you and AJ and Summer xxxxxx🥰😺🐶
Thanks Mandy 😀😀
It's wonderful to see, showing people the beautiful nation of Wales. Stay safe girls and enjoy the rest of your journey around the best country in THE world 🌎.
You always get a knobhead, that lowers the "general good crack". Aye, the Symons one.
This video made my Monday !! One word to describe ( excellent) well done little one (Emily ) 😂
😀😀🥳🥳
Wow, Em’s bravery & Lou’s editing - on point - Freakin’ awesome vid! 😉👌🙌
Thanks guys, glad I done it 😀
Well Done Emily 🤩 🥇
Well done Emily. 👍👍👍👍We do want to do this!! It looks amazing. Thanks for the north wales good vibes. We live here and totally agree. It’s amazing! Glad the weather lifted for you in the end. Great video 🍻
You should definitely do it 😀😀
Oh man I just love you two. Advantages, love, chippies, 2 min tour what else could I ask for
The chips were the best
I keep shouting about Wales it's an amazing country the scenery is breathtaking. thank you gorgeous going and I hope you find more too do next time. xxx stay safe xx
We will 😀😀
Well done Emily - I had tears in my eyes for you ! Nailed it
Oh Emily I feel your pain running around and you beat your 2 min record too. 🏃♀️👍. Well done on your zip wire too. Another great blog A. J. and Summer looking like seasoned van travellers now. 😊
They are loving it in the van and yeah I’m not sure if I’m happier about the 2min or the zip wire 😂
A good challenge for Louise next time you’re up here would be Bounce Below which is BELOW ground - in the old caverns.
No need to do anything for us.
Follow your inner guidance, Love❣️
Well done you 👍
Well done Emm. Zip wire and a successful 2 min tour in one vlog. What more could any subscriber wish for. Lou, shame you couldn't film the journey up to the zip wire station in the old army trucks they use. Mega views across to Anglesea and the Isle of Mann.
So glad I did it 😀😀
Ohhhh, I thought the scare was NO SNACKS, great job Emily on the zipline , looks like fun? Great scenery Lou, nice *
😂 there would have been a right paddy then
Well done Emily 😊👍 you're a much braver woman than me.
😀
Fantastic Emily. Eddie the Eagle came to mind.
Ssshhhhh. Don’t tell everyone how beautiful this place is.
Truly the Empress Emily ! Wow- I was so on tenterhooks for you- even my eyeballs welled up! Well done!💯💫💥👏❤
Very proud Emily
😀😀
You’re too brave Emily 😉🥴 👏. The scenery is stunning… heaven on earth . Spent all my childhood holidays in North Wales , beautiful 👌
Well done Emily you’re a star. Can’t see Lou. doing that!🥰🥴🥂🥂
No me either 😂
We went there twenty years ago it never changed , ❤️🏴
Never mind Iron Man, Iron bird Emily is the new force . Well done you two for another trip for us all to watch while sitting at home wishing we were there. I'm looking forward to your return trip to who go's next time.
Glad we can show you it 😀
Emily you are extremely brave doing that zip line and just maybe doing a little wee is a sign of being alive well done girl I'm sure you are probably a hero to a lot of people now and not just young ones either.Well filmed Lou
Thank you 😊
Great job on the zip line, Emily. You wouldn't get me on that.
Great video again, .... and .... Emily running .. yes😁👍
Well done Emily for achieving the challenge and both of you for a stand out Vlog
Lou if your still in Wales stop off at Gigren Farm for some outstanding bird photography opportunities - hundreds of Red Kites diving down at feeding time - I guarantee you’ll love it
Francis
Thanks Frank, we are not but we will be back
Brilliant video once again ladies well done Emily on zip line ☮️
Well done Emily for confronting your fear of heights and doing the zipwire
Emily you’re a total rock star ⭐️
Hooray to you Emily!! SO brave! Betws-y-coed is a very special place for me and I loved that you got chips from the chip shop on the bridge - we ate there a few times too. :) The pronunciation of Betws-y-coed is like "Bet-us ee coyd", that w in Welsh always trips people up but if you remember that 'w" is pronounced "double u" and in Welsh it's not two just the one! Another class video from you two - fab! 😀♥
Thanks 😊 they were good chips as well
As a proud member of "Team Emily" ... Yay you!! Well done!!
🥳🥳🥳
8:01 It is pronounced Bet-oos uh Coy-d. Nice town. 😁
well done Emily, I could never have done that even in my youthful years, hate heights. scenery beautiful as usual you do a great job Louise filming it all. Take care and stay safe xxPat
Pat it was a struggle but glad I did it
Da Iawn for doing the zip line its on my to do list and looks amazing. I am bias being Welsh but it is a stunning county and seeing your enthusiasm for North Wales and the Brecon Beacons is fantastic. Check out the coast line as well truly beautiful. Thank you or Diolch for the videos.
We will David 😀
Oh dear, you've just broken my heart... I grew up in Llandudno and in my youth and young adulthood, have walked all over North Wales, it's mountains and rivers and your video reminded me of how much I miss it all. I moved to Germany 22yrs ago and until covid hit, my younger daughter and I traveled back at least twice each year but not been able to get back to see Family & Friends since 2019. We're determined to go this Christmas though. Where was your campsite? I suspect you're in the Lledr Valley, looking at the River (looks a lot like Afon Lledr {River Lledr} to me. My Parents took us up the Lledr Valley every sunday for a Picnic Lunch (almost without exception) from Spring to Autumn. I explored every inch of that valley as a kid and your video brought back so many fond memories of the Lledr Valley, Childhood and late parents. Da Iawn Diolch, Martin â Sian
Oh bless you guys, we really hope you get back over for Christmas 🤶 😀
YES! So proud of you, Emily! 🙏👏🥳
😀
👍💕😘😘 Well done Emily,
I would have lost my voice screaming so much! 🤣 Break out the snacks you deserve it! 😘💕😘
😂😂 I nearly did
Emily, I am so impressed. What a star.
