3:35am = 335 (like Gibson ES-335). But Marty plays an ES-345 (broken parallelogram inlays and the varitone). So it should be at 3:45am….Buy the right guitar if you are going to make a video like this! As Mark Agnesi would say….”Play Authentic!”

"Back to the Future," holds a special place in my heart. It not only entertained me but also inspired me to learn how to play the guitar. I remember saving every penny from my first summer job to purchase this very guitar same colour, identical to the one in the movie. The urge to emulate Marty McFly playing "Johnny B. Goode" fueled my passion for music.
after a few years of learning on one unforgettable evening, during a family outing, My uncles band hosted an open mic session at a local bar. Encouraged by my uncle, I took the stage, eager to showcase my guitar skills. With a mix of nerves and excitement, I kicked off with the iconic intro "This is an oldy, But your kids are gonna love it" from BTTF before launching into "Johnny B. Goode." To my delight, the audience responded directly by jumping up and started to dance and sing along to my performance it became a cherished memory for me.
That moment encapsulated the magic of music and the power of cinematic inspiration, reminding me of the joy that comes from sharing a passion with others.

Not too very long ago, a pal and I formed a solid oldies/country/rock duo. We played house parties, block parties, did Karaoke, and were the house band at a little club. We started to get a decent following. Another pal was doing his thing at an open mic night, so we went to watch him. He was getting ready to close out his set when I asked him if he could play "Red House". He asked me if I could sing it, I replied, "Give me an intro". A hush fell over the crowd as I began singing. I sang it almost to the end, and then I laid the mic on the stool. He finished up the music, and it literally brought the house down!
He asked me why I stopped singing, to which I replied: "Always leave them wanting more!" True story!

I loved that scene but now that I'm older and more experienced with the guitar I gotta wonder how he was able to get that sound without pedal effects.

Maybe he discreetly walked around the back of the amp and jabbed a pen into one of those Jensen speakers before walking out on stage.

When a guitarist watches back to the future....they should all notice Marty is playing a Gibson 345 (which wasn't released until 1958) in the year 1955.
He must have stopped by 58" on his way back.

Very nice job 👍. Very close to the movie . I watched a documentary on the making of these scenes . It’s been years , but I have never , not once , heard anyone reproduce the absolute perfect , and distinct guitar solo that the guy in the movie did . Many have tried , but no one has got it yet and it’s been 40 years . I wish there was actual footage of it but I can’t find any . I’m not a guitar player so I don’t know how or what he done in the studio making the guitar magic for that scene , but it’s heavenly . I wish someone would nail it just like in the movie

It was this scene that got me begging my father for a sears catalog guitar for Christmas in 1995 (I was 5 years old). I got that sears catalog classical acoustic and actually still have it somewhere lol. Ive played guitar my whole life since that Christmas. I build guitars, pedals, tube and solid state amps and repair them all as well as on occasion restore/repair vintage tube radio receivers. And it all started with and because of this scene. Then a year or two after i got my sears catalog guitar i saw the Nirvana Heart Shaped Box music video on mtv early in the morning before school one day and that really set a spark off in my mind that propelled me into my musical journey. And that Christmas my present was a black and white squier strat that i had up until i gave it to mh nephew so he could learn guitar also. He trashed it in less than a month. Kids these days are trash. Anyways great scene and who doesnt love Chick Berry!?

I remember when I first learnt how to play this, I was still a youngster and was at a boarding school, i was learning to play the guitar with a friend. I had saved all my newspaper round money, any money I had given to me for Christmas and birthdays, I got myself a Gibson les Paul epiphone starter kit, i opened it on Christmas morning and plugged it in, my step dad sat laughing at me saying that I'd never be able to play anything becuse I wasn't smart enough, tuned up, turned up and belted this intro into his face, he went bright red and never ever mentioned the guitar to me again.

I got into this song because of my love for Back to the Future and now I listen to Johnny B. Goode a few times a week at least lol. Because either the golden oldies station on Pandora which I'll listen too or because of the Back to the Future musical soundtrack version which I love. Now that's the best of both worlds right there, but it messes me up when listening to the original bc there is another line in between and I listen to the other so much I forget that
