He's overcoming his own boundaries by getting up in front of thousands of people and playing guitar with a disease that affects your muscles. I play guitar myself and I can't imagine what it must be like to play with Parkinsons. It took some serious balls to do what he did here. Massive respect for the guy. Did he get a fee? Maybe. I'd like to think that if he did he donated it to his charity fund, but I guess we'll never know.
I believe the official definition of 'hero' is: "a person who is admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities." Michael has all 3 of those. So to me at least, he's a hero.
JZZY WLLMS The reason I gave you the definition of the word hero is because you tried to say I was using the term incorrectly and declare he's more of an ambassador. Now you seem to be saying that a person's view of a 'hero' is subjective. So that means I can see him as a hero if I want, and you may not. That's fine. You can give him all the labels you want. But to me, personally, the guy is a hero.

He learned the guitar part note for note for Back to the Future. It's not him playing but he wanted to be able to play it it so it looked real in the movie.
@@Rocket_Sledge hey sledge didn't know you were a Back to the future fan. 😉
Think he did some guitar in the movie. Not sure who did the singing though.

this is exactly what body positivity really is.
Not sure how anyone could not love that clip given what MJF was battling. I never realized he actually played the guitar riffs in the original BTF and now with severe Parkinson's. So cooooool!
Actually, Fox admitted someone else played the riff, but he knew it well enough to do a brilliant finger sync. He said he could play it, but he couldn't play it THAT tight.
@@jaklumen Exactly, they taught him the song so it looked right, but one of the people who does "This is what they're really playing" pointed out it's pretty close... just in the wrong key. I'm not sure if he relearned it along the way or his guitar is tuned differently when he plays it here.
Oh yeah he learned it for the movie.
He learned it and played it but it was dubbed. Still, he did it and he did keep playing guitar afterwards.
@@jaklumen the one with the long hair in the pinheads does the guitar and marty mimes to it

I have seen back to the future 1000 times and I just found out that MJ can play the guitar for reals
He hired a guitar teacher to teach him to play specifically for Back To The Future because he didn't want to fake it. Now THAT is how you get things done. Mad respect to Michael!!
Same! Never knew he could really play until now. Very impressive.

Mike could p[lay some guitar but learning to play Johnny b. Good took a long time.
@@xoxdarkdragonxox i know Mike personally and he has played since he was 14 yrs old he was in a band.. what ever that is you posted i am not interested i know the truth. He had to be taught to play Johnny B. Good for sure but he still played guitar since age 14.

Hey Fearless... say hi to your mom for me. (No word of a lie, this was my sign off on my radio show for 12 years)
Most people get Parkinson's disease in their 60s, or later, in life. MJF was diagnosed at age 29. Can you imagine going through this awful disease for the majority of your years? He's had a great support system with a wonderful woman at his side. But this is one tough hombre, and I could not respect this man more.
90 people are not ready for this... but their kids are gonna love it!
Hey i'm 90 a kid. Next gen is shit
Eh. I'm not ready for this, but maybe my kids are gonna love it? Eh.
probably the best comment I have ever read! Thanks

jajajaja sarcasm?
MJF Is such a role model, I mean the dude has parkinson's and still has the guts to play guitar in front of thousands of people.
All right guys listen, this is a blues riff in B, watch me for the changes, and try and keep up, okay????
Loved this. Michael has a spirit like non other he is truly inspirational in all his efforts and work. God bless him and hope to see more in the future.

Chris Martin, one of the nicest guys in the music biz, and Michael J Fox, a Hollywood legend, together on stage. Great stuff.
The people who dislike this were all the "Biff"s of this time.

ℳysti𝓒aendra And it's worth noting that the BTF wires based Biff T. on Trump

No its 2018 theyre griffs
kkkkkkk
When announced to come on stage he should have said "no," then Chris should have said "what's wrong mcfly, chicken?" Then he'd walk on and say "nobody calls me chicken" then shred the house down.
Would've been up there with, "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn!"....
Think that would have made it perfect
And do the moves he did on stage at the "Enchantment Under The Sea" Dance. That would've been epic!
Okay, who else pictured this being said in Griff's voice?
