I have never there since I live on Kauai,but have seen so many yummy photos of the plates coming out of there… little nondescript shop. So amazing!!!!! And plenny food and good prices!!!
We used to go to Ray's for the Prime Rib. It used to be really good but the last time we went the Prime Rib was bland with no seasoning and the rice was too dry. As mentioned it used to be really good but no more!
None of these places exited during my time. I was raised at kalihi-war Homes, before there ever was a kuhio homes or fort kam homes in kalihi valley. It was real paradise back then,40s and 50s. What a great time in Hawaii history.

Always want to try his place. Parking so hard to find in that area. Maybe someday.
I really wish Ray's would relocate to somewhere with bigger parking and more restaurant seating.
Rent would be higher and prices would go way up. I like the low prices and would put with bad parking for it.
When he was on Smith St. it was even smaller...
