You just saved my soul pulling this chainsaw for the last 30mins in the texas heat with that choke procedure on the 590

This old timer has owned Echo saws since 1978. Got a 500vl and I was hooked. Tough and dependable.

Good info sad thing is like you said every manufacturer does it differently I have seen that and like you said if your old school you got to go back to school and learn how to it right😎😎😎👍

Great teaching, Donny! Just took shipment on a CS 620 with wrap handle. And I absolutely love it....lightweight, easy starting, and a lot gentler on my wallet!

Thank You for the Echo video. I love All my Echoes, they all start 3rd pull every time. But my 7310 is a turd, hasn't broken in at all, my 620 walks all over it. I wish you were closer (Oregon)

Ahhh their just like the 2511t. I wonder what their bigger saws are like seeing as how I love the 2511 Ripsaw

I bought an old Stihl 084 because I wanted big saw with a long bar once in a while. It had the de-comp welded shut. I have a strong grip, but the saw would rip the handle out of my hand 90% of the time, as it would backfire, and that is very painful. I wore a heavy glove to no avail. When it did start it would run beautifully, but the pain endured to get it there was brutal.

The timing is too advanced. You either have a coil or flywheel problem. You can always file down the key as a cheap fix. I have seen many saws do this.

I thought the timing is fixed, and I couldn't pull it fast enough without a de-comp valve in it, being my problem. What should I look for in the coil and flywheel? Thanks@@Mastr-Tech

I have several Echo chainsaws. The Echo 800 starts the hardest! Lol🤩

I sure do like my CS501P, but here’s a tip on it from my personal experience: do NOT have the oil set on anything but MINIMUM. Mine put out so much oil that it continually ran out so that it was a long way away from running out of fuel, a VERY long way. I turned the oiler down to minimum and then they were equal to each other. It was a VERY eye opening experience for me! I’ve never seen anything like it. And I don’t have it running lean, it runs hard, good and fast but has lots of power in the cut.

Donny...I think Echo made their throttle the way they did so people would have trouble if they tried to drop start the saws. If you start it on the ground or in your crotch you can't pull the trigger to get it to drop out of fast idle. The absolute best choke/on-off mechanism is the one on Dolmars. They automatically return to the start position unless you push them down hard!

Is it normal to feel a lot of tension on the pull cord?

Good evening Mr. Donny I just want to know between Stihl chainsaw and Husqvarna chainsaw which one do you recommend and which one
break easier and which one can last longer and easy to fix.
    Thanks

Love my Echos. I have a 501P that I haven’t modded the muffler / pulled the limiter caps out, yet. Waiting for Donny to build a pipe muffler first :)

Eye glass screwdrivers will allow you to get to the tuning screws to be able take care of the tuning IF you feel like you need to leave the limiters in stock for warranty purposes. 😊 I’ve done it and that is how I know.

Hey Donny. Picked up a 066 yesterday that I want to have rebuilt. Plan to buy a new oem piston/jug for it but I’d like to have the case split and new seals and possibly bearings put in if needed. Is that something you’d be willing to take on and Walkerize?
