Great series with a lot of insight! I love your guys' honesty and lack of fear of saying things wrong. You say it how it is, which has become clearly rare these days.
My favorite watch of this year was made the young Japanese watchmaker J.S. Elliot. He is just 17 years old and recently released his first watch! Im very curious to see what he can make down the road.
I’m totally with Thomas on the Octo Finissimo: it’s way too big. I’ve got a 7 inch wrist and I used to rock a couple of 45.5 mm Planet Oceans (love those handsome beasts!) so I’m well comfortable with big chunky watches on my wrist. However, the Octo Finissimo isnt a tool watch. The current size takes up way too much space on the wrist to look elegant. Which is such a shame as it could’ve been the last word in svelteness.
Good conversation. I got distracted by the tossing of the question cards on the floor, with virtually every answer, from the guy on the right. It got me wondering: Are there staffing plebs that have to pick these up after the filming? (Like happens on a late night TV show with famous comedians - which is where I am guessing he copied this from anyway). Or do they they have to pick up these cards themselves later?? OR, just leave them for the cleaning crew? Dying to know!!!!!!
yeah! Arnold & Son Perpetual Moon getting recognition. I picked a black one up last month and love it. Very comfortable and such a stunner to look at all day.
Most intersting, and possibly best, integrated sports bracelet is Sarpaneva. It suits their case so well which is not an easy feat given the odd case shape.
Digest that? Sure. You were lucky. They don't mention such a spec and most anecdotal evidence isn't so positive. That means that when you send it for servicing, you can expect it to return less accurate than new.
Exactly, He is lucky - Because if PRX does not perform, you cant even service it. It's a "use and dump" mechanical watch, a paradoxon we shall not reward or allow@@shuycg
It’s a fine watch considering the price. Kudos to Tissot for putting to market an attractive, affordable, and well made watch. Not everyone can afford or want to pay for a tier one brand.
I find the comments about Breitling being overrated are grossly exaggerated and desperate, as if 'somebody' was tiptoe around it. How can Breitling be overrated when they get pretty much zero love or admonishment from any critics or industry elitists? I think its a terrible response. Personally I would have said Richard Mille or Audmers Piguet, of which both are easily justified as incredibly overrated.
The questions was more where to buy not where to wear and in that case there’s possibly not better city then London. The huge variety of possibilities is immense.
@@excention7338thats doesnt matter. There are literally hundreds of videos of robberies happening in the "safest" streets. London police has said there are over 8 different watch robbery gangs in London alone. Its mainly moped / motorcycle snatch and grabs with multiple scouts.
2000s Breitlings were way better watches than the mainstream major players. Haven't seen any improvement with the new management except if you consider tudor collab a plus
Surprised nobody mentioned VC for overrated - quality is really a bit underwhelming for its alleged position which is supposed to be in line with PP and AP
Sorry, but many of the answers, including those at 2:45, lack depth. There's a trend of brands fabricating their histories or new companies acquiring old names and claiming a legacy they weren't part of. It's important to acknowledge genuine contributions in watchmaking history. Your response seems to overlook some key contributions of Breitling to watchmaking. For instance, the two-button chronograph, a standard now, was first introduced by Breitling in the early 1940s, long before other renowned brands like Zenith, Omega, or Rolex entered this space. It's important to note that brands like Rolex initially used movements from others, such as Zenith, for their chronographs. Moreover, Breitling's lack of marketing about their rich history might be why their significant contributions are less known. Notably, they were also one of the few brands to consistently obtain COSC certification for all their watches, including quartz models. This demonstrates their commitment to precision and quality across their range.
@@daverauti1170 oh should I? Sorry I didn't realize you were the watch comment Stasi. Apologies for not providing context on command for you, please don't have me arrested, oh morally righteous one.
Way to much hype for AP, not enough hype for Longines. I know one super luxury, the other entry luxury. Stop hating on Tag. They are certainly getting better.
Rolex is massively overrated and overpriced. Don't care about inflation or what the market says. They're made on a conveyor belt and there's nothing rate about them. Sure, they're very well built but you're only paying for marketing. Tudor is far cooler and better value.
@@Chrono24Official The TAG Heuer lightbox Carreras - the blue, black and skipper. Outstanding! Only gripe is for that kind of moolah, they need to at least chronometer certified. Great views. Thanks! Re overated, .............. is it just me, or is the answer Patek Philippe? I have held many, but in every case it's been disappointing?
The Octo Finissimo was the worst watch I ever tried on in person. I never took a watch off so quick in my life. Ugly, flat , wide, horrible looking on wrist. I think it's a cool looking watch until you try it on.
Thomas your head is way too big for your body. Some angles it looked like you had been photoshopped to make your head 50% bigger and your hands 50% smaller. Then I realized that’s just normal 😂
Great format and conversation. One of the best watch videos I've seen, and I've seen many many watch videos. More like this!

Glad to see more of these longer format videos!
Nice video chaps well done 😊 more of these pleeeease … 🎉
Awesome content and great answers 🙌🏻👍🏻
Diffrent vibe from other channels ... like it: more subdued, with different layers and still opinionated ... great!
Good stuff Thomas and Balazs...👍
The Breitling, American Muscle car colab is fantastic!

Absolutely right about the Doxa Dive watch👏👏👏

I was shocked to hear Breitling as overrated. They may have the best chronographs on the market. Agree on FP Journe.
Arguably 2nd best only to Zenith, but otherwise I agree completely

The most campest episode ever! But did love it 😂
The bromance is real
Breitling is hardly overated!
surprised to hear thomas not familiar with octo solotempo, discontinued line of basically a smaller but thicker octo finissimo
Ah yes! I forgot about that in the moment. I'd still love to see a 36mm Octo that wears like a 38mm (please please please!)

AP are so overrated.

💯
There's definitely an argument to be made here. However, vintage (non-Royal Oak) AP watches are still underrated

Best dial color: black. Best complication: chronograph. SPOT ON.
