If the fabric is dirty I will soak them in a bath of oxiclean and then scrub. Depending on the shoe some can be thrown into a washing machine

For shoes, how do you look them up? When I’m in the stores I kind of freeze up and my eBay scan doesn’t work. Google Lens doesn’t show the sold comps in my experience
Most shoes have a model number. All nike shoes have a 8-10 digit code (I don’t remember the exact number but for example AC6578-001) I type it in and the shoes should come up. Most of the big names have similar code styles. Or Google lens and then type the model that was shown on Google into eBay and filter it to solds. Shoes are my favorite most consistent selling item in my store
Your Goodwill prices are low compared to the ones we have here in the Phoenix Metro area. Goodwill is catching on to "resellers" and prices in the stores down here are outrageous, so you are lucky for such low prices.

Making money off of another BUSINESS who gets all of the stuff for free and is also trying to make as much money as possible (not a charity for the poor btw) which is why they created shop goodwill .com so that they can sell the more valuable stuff at a higher price.
