The Snowtown, or "bodies-in-the-barrel" murders, came to light in May 1999 when eight bodies were found inside barrels of acid in a bank vault.
Three more victims were later identified during the police investigation.
Now, after a quarter of a century, one of the four men convicted for his part in Australia's worst serial killings could be granted freedom within months.
And, still haunted by the horrific crimes, victims' families strongly oppose Mark Haydon's release.
