Many thanks for this video. It was so helpful. I found the pattern really easy to add on to my dress pattern and the instructions straightforward. I got a perfect result, even my husband said he liked the vent pleat.
Beautifully explained, the best example I finally found on utube, I am making a skirt for my daughter who doesn't want to show any leg. I have been looking for a whole week and found you. Thank you so very much, very well explained and lucky for me it was a visual. I learn faster with visuals, I am going to say little prayer for you tonight. Xxxxx
Thank you! This was an excellent instructional video! Can you do one that demonstrates how to LINE a vented skirt? This information has been nearly impossible to find and the few videos I have found have not been as clear as you have demonstrated here. Please consider this! Thanks again!
Thank you 😊 - adding linings are on my very long list of techniques to show... I’ll get there one day to make the video but I don’t think it will be soon. Sorry 😕
Julia, I didn't write much ystdy... I merely said thank you. But I'm really grateful for the way you taught about the vent pleat. I'll give you a quick overview of why it was so helpful. I inherited some fabric, & one piece had a vintage skirt pattern pinned to it, albeit it was rough having been on there a long time. I had no directions, but I have sewn a good bit in the last 50+ yrs. But I'm still a novice, & truly never had done a "vent pleat". I had given it a try, but I had done it wrong. I was praying I could get a good TH-cam tutorial & yours came up in my search. It was straightforward and just what I needed. I have 2 clothing construction books from the past, one much larger & more detailed than the other, and neither of them had anything about vent pleats. So yours was truly a great blessing 💜 Thank you again. So happy you took the time to create & post it. Blessings to you & yours.
@@TheStaffOfLife thank you so much for your wonderful feedback. I made many of my videos for my sewing students who had to create samples of a series of techniques, including the vent pleat. I didn’t think anyone else would find them or use them but I was very wrong! 😂 I’m so pleased that you found the video useful. Happy sewing! 🧵✂️☺️
