Great video! I've had the Crystal for roughly 3 months now, and I couldn't have been any happier. I went from the G2 and there is absolutely no comparison, even though the G2 is a very good VR headset, particularly for its price point. But it's like with anything else. If you but a top end sports car and you want maximum performance, you have to pay for that experience. I have no problems with that, though it is too expensive for a lot of users. Much like a top end sports car is too expensive for the average car owner. At the same time we all know that a few years down the line, the Crystal experience will become more and more "average", and the price WILL drop. I even guess that in ten years from now we will be laughing at the fact this headset was the top of the line, and that people were willing to pay so much for it. But if you want the very best as of RIGHT NOW, you know what you have to do. It's time to formulate that wish list to Santa in a way that would make Shakespeare feel proud. Love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥

I own a Pimax Crystal (mostly play flight sims) and I can confirm that the aspheric lenses are the best in the industry when it comes to clarity. That being said, it would be good if you guys included some through the lens video here so that people could better see the quality they'd be getting.

Received mine Crystal last Friday.. unfortunately with these aspherical lenses I have a very blurry image. I wore and tilted the HMD in every possible way, I activated and calibrated the eye tracking, automatic IPD, tested various offsets in Pimax Play... nothing to do, the sweet spot is tiny, especially vertically. It's like wearing glasses with the wrong lenses (I don't wear glasses). The quest 3 is vastly better with lenses. I'm returning it.

PIMAX could have used this type of informative presentation video a year ago.. Let's not forget we're STILL waiting on the promised 2 lens sets to be provided for the Crystal. Both of which SHOULD be glass and NOT Plastic(like the 42ppd ones). Let's also keep in mind that PIMAX should allow the user to choose either the 42PPD or the new wider FOV lenses as their 2nd set at no additional cost. Keep to your promise of two lens sets (within stated price for the Crystal), PIMAX.

Hi! I love the crystal very much, but the CA is very high. I don't mind that, but to say that the crystal has no CA or less CA is not true. Godrays etc. are true, even with very white and bright text on a dark background, there is no glare etc. The clarity is superb, there's no question about it and I'm blown away every time. My only concern or tip to Pimax is don't send out pre-production units to TH-camrs who are not capable of talking to the developers if something doesn't work, or even realise that this is not a final unit. So much BS on YT about the crystal from some YT buffoon and the worst part is that people are now using this kind of information to spread misinformation and haven't even tried the HMD themselves. Believe me, there is such a thing as bad publicity.

Mate, you took the words out of my mouth. I'm also incredibly annoyed about how bad the crystal was received by the TH-cam vr community. I even had doubts myself about my pre-order when Bradley and meteo311 made a collaborate video to trash talk the crystal without mentioning the image quality. It seems like a lot of people just wants it to be bad, because of hatred towards pimax based on shortcomings in the past.
Regarding chromatic abortion, I agree with there as well. For me, that's the only artifact that I've ever noticed, which makes it a lot better than any other hmd I've tried. It's clearly there if you're looking for it, if you look a gray straight line or shard edge in a minimalist kind of environment without detail and colour, you can see it, but it's bit gonna bother anyone in game.
